Hard starting - WHY

speeders , i have a weird problem happend with me when dealer workshop dropped the engine to fix a coolant leak ,

when the engine is cold , its hard to crank it , it took 3-4 sec to start !!!! sometimes it does not start !!! it cranked from the 2nd try to switch it ON !!!!the weird thing is when the engine is warm its cranked normally with 1 sec or les !!!!!!!!!

is it spark plugs issue ?? as i did not replace them from 2 months
is it fuel pump issue ??
it the return fuel line ??
is it bad injector ?? as i used them for allmost 2 years now !!! i cleaned them by special tools before this problem happend , so mybe the Siemens injectors is not cleanable ????

or what ??

thanks in advance

btw .. no codes i can see from the durematric reading

Yousef,

Even if the engine turns over, a bad battery can cause electrical gremlins on startup with sensors and the ECU.

When the car starts, does it idle ok or is it rough?

You're still running MAFless right?

Mine had cranking issues when I had the clutch replaced. They had to open the tranny back up and adjust the specs on the crank position sensor. It has a very fine amount of adjustment I guess.

try to replace your crankshaft position sensor.it can be easily damaged when droping the engine.

I think its the injectors, i had the same problem in 3 cars here.

The problem is that you cant see it in diagnostics. you have to change them.

thanks emre , even the dealershop told me injectors faild

ok i saw many SIEMENS 80lb injectors , do anyone know which one will fit the 997 turbo ? whats the part code ?? or all the SIEMENS 80lb injectors are the same ?

i read that SIEMENS have 2 kinds of ( Long Style ) injectors for the 80lb but one of them come with EV1 Connector , the other come with USCAR EV6 Connector

so which one will fit ?

Mine never failed, and never through a code. I was told the tolerances are so tight on that sensor that just the slight expansion and contraction of the metal put the sensor out of whack.

Anyway, once they adjusted the sensor, I had no hard starts or cranking issues. Hope you figure it out!
