Alpha kit?

Alpha kit?
Hi guys,
My upgraded VTGs give me correct power (>670hp/900Nm) but the feeling does not really fancy me: not enough power and response <3500/4000rpm and correct but not amazing top end; with stock VTGs the low range response is better but top end really poor... (<600hp maxi)
I thought about an alpha kit, easier than GTs to bolt in I believe.
My goals are: a responsive engine from about 3000rpm and a agressive top end.
I guess 900Nm and 750hp would be enough (stock internals) to stay safe.
100-200 about 5' and 200-300 about 10' with a high strenght feeling at driving would be cool...
I don't want to brake boost to achieve good times.
Do you think 3071 or 3076 would be better for my use?
Ps: I only run pumpgas (euro98)
Thxs,
P.

I know, and perhap's I will order Torco or a barrel of C16 or MS 109 sometimes, but I would like the basis level being stronger than VTGs can offer I'm afraid...

you need to do 1 thing:
contact Emre @ Esmotor.
They are in europe, they do tune for 97 - 98 octane. Plus they have the fastest 60-130 mph 997 tt worldwide. Just give them a call, Emre will "custom tune" your 997 to make it satisfy your personal wishes.

I started the tune with TK who was always smart with me, so I had in mind to follow with him, but you are not wrong, Emre is now probably the best alternative if not TK...

My vote to A3076
Make sure to get good clutch kit to avoid slipping

I think going 3.8 with what you have already will give you what you want!
The setups you are talking about are not that amazing as you think as you lose the bottom end power and shift it high up!
Also some descent intercoolers will help, as you know already with VTG'S you get immense heat!

I don't think +200cc displacement could really change something?
To preserve bottom end 3071s might be OK, my actual low end is poor, even with VTGs (same as yours I guess)
I run 997.2 Ics, not too bad...

if you are planing to run pumps gas not race fuel !!!
you should have the alpha kit plus meth injection , 1.5bar all the way
just install the methanol injection correctly,do fine tunning the ECU and you will be ready for 700whp or more ..

I have similar vtgs to yours and find the low-end response quite good with the boost kicking in around 3500rpm. The upgraded vtgs are better than stock at all rpms, and the AUC curves Dave posted show that.
I forgot if yours is 6speed or tip, but with my 6speed and the gearing of the car I find that I'm almost always in the turbos powerband.
But just like you I occasionally think about MORE POWER!!!!! I will most likely go with Champion 68vtgs b/c of the driveability, increased power and the fact that you keep factory ecu. I know you can get more power out of alphas but I like the powerband of the vtgs, just want to increase it!
Good luck, and keep us posted.

Hi Asher,
I don't think we have the same vtgs, yours are 63.5 and mine 66, so my low end is weaker than your... (and my top end probably stronger)
My boost really kicks about 4000 rpm: my car is a 6spd and when I start in 4rth from 70kph it kicks >100kph at the dashboard.
My torque <3000 is really poor and the spooling time is about 1 second, far too long, my 560hp 993TT K24s spool very faster!
The 68 from CMS are perhap's a good key for top end but low?...

-BMC drop in
-997.2Ics
-full FVD 2.5' exhaust catless (headers include)
-Proto Ypipe
-FVD "700series" vtgs (rated 66mm, ref.123041-42 if I'm right)
-strongest Sachs clutch sold by FVD with LFW
-Proto tune
rest is cosmetic or chassis, and brembo type 3 brakes.
the car is quite strong but not tremendous...
