Putting my Car away for the Winter - Tips
Snow has arrived here in Edmonton.
So I have washed and waxed my car. Put my car up on Flat Stoppers, pulled the 997TT indoor car cover over her and attached the CTek battery conditioner to the car. Have I missed anything for long term storage?
What tips do you guys have as this is my first winter since Ive had my car.
Im more than a little jealous of the rest of you in warm climates.

Put some snow tires on and enjoy!
They are designed and built in a winter place
Only problem is cannot get hockey sticks in easily unless top is down....

Pretzel,
Are you in Edmonton? I just couldn't bring myself to run the car in salt conditions. My 2012 Jeep Cherokee Overland is for this season.
What fuel stabilizer do you guys recommend?
Spatia

I am in Calgary, so with the chinooks in an average year more than a few days above zero to enjoy the top down. The whole front part of the car (up to windshield)is 3Med to protect against rock chips/salt etc. as well as anything that you can see exposed when in front of the car. And it gets a good wash off at least once per week......yearly detail when the gravel is off the roads, my biggest concern is the soft glass windshield.
Cheers

Winter Storage
When I put my car away for the long winter nap I:
1. Change oil and filter.
2. Put desiccant packs inside the trunk and on the driver and passenger foot wells to eliminate moisture inside.
3. Put 50 psi of nitrogen in each tire.
4. Put Sta-bil in fuel and drive for at least 30 minutes to mix it and heat oil to get rid of any moisture.
5. Remove wiper blades and put Styrofoam under wiper arms where they touch the windshield.
6. After engine cools put plastic bags over exhaust tips.
7. Clean wheels, brakes, and tires.
8. Connect Battery Tender on battery
9. Cover and don't touch it until next spring.

Here's my 996 from the winter last year.

And here's the 997 from just a little while ago thanks to the crazy weather going on in NY right now...

Excellent! That's how they were meant to be. Planning for another 2-4 inches of snow in next 24 hours. Will make sure that the plow on the front is secure after a summer of steep driveways and curbs. I think Spatia is being promised double the snow up north.

Love the the winter pictures !! I would also suggest some Porsche Tire bags for your summer tires if you don't have them already.

Porsche's service tire bags offer cleaner storage, easy and clean transportation, a comfortable carrying handle, and a clear pocket for storage information (this is handy for noting which side of the car the tire came off of, at what mileage it was removed, or storage dates.)
