New to me 2010 TT - Atlas Grey
Thought I'd finally share some pics of my new ride... car was just back from Detailing Dynamics who did a fantastic job re-wrapping the front with clear bra.
It's Atlas Grey over black/sand beige. Pretty much all major options including PTV, Adaptive seats, PCCB, as well as various leather bits and other cosmetic things. It's a PDK which I'm really enjoying so far.
My previous TT was a 2007 6 speed that I bought new but sold two years later and missed ever since.
This is a tough color to capture!

Take my comments with a grain of salt as there was a 2.5 year gap between them and note that I they were/are both stock.
Acceleration at higher speeds, passing, etc in a single gear feels exactly the same, can't really tell a difference. With the PDK I'm more likely to downshift because it's just so quick/easy so the .2 often feels faster. The ability to keep the boost on between shifts contributes a lot to this. Also, driving around town I notice that I'm not using boost nearly as often and the .2 feels noticibly 'quicker' than the .1 when not on boost (or very low boost).
Initially I was concerned that I made a big mistake with the PDK since I reallly enjoyed the involvement of the 6 speed but the ability to extract the acceleration potential of the car so easily with the PDK has won me over. The 'normal' mode in automatic is sort of silly... I think it puts me in 7th gear at about 40 mph so I'm almost always in Sport mode and typically shift manually (although the automatic in Sport mode works well).
Handling is probably a bigger difference... the .2 feels a fair bit more planted, especially on higher speed corners. I'm not sure if this is due to the PTV, dynamic engine mounts or the fact that I can keep both hands on the wheel with PDK but I feel a bit more confidence in the .2. In my .1 the tail often felt like it 'wiggled' (not sure how else to describe it). FWIW, I did have the LSD on the .1. I was actually close to upgrading the suspension on the .1 before I decided to sell it.
I didn't have PCCB on my .1 and I'll add that I'm loving the initial 'bite' that they provide and have been amazed about the lack of brake dust (I hate cleaning wheels!), it's even better than I thought it would be. Don't get me wrong, the steel brakes are incredible and I probaby wouldn't shell out the $$ if I was buying new but the PCCB feel is very nice.
Although I like the look of the RS centerlock wheels, I'm not very thrilled that I'm going to have to make a significant investment in tools in order to be able to change them myself... I'm not sure how often I'd actually remove a wheel but I'd at least like to be able to do it if I needed to (such as changing to a snow tire set up in winter). I'd have preferred a nice set of 5X130 Champion/HRE wheels.
Other minor differences I've noticed... the .2 seems to take longer to warm up than the .1 which means that I'm not having quite as much fun on my morning commute. This doesn't really make much sense to me so maybe my memory is flawed. I also noticed that after I park, the engine fan in the .1 would almost always kick in as I was going inside but it's never kicked in once (yet) on the .2. The PCM3 with bluetooth/ipod integration is a very welcome change especially since the car is a daily driver for me. The PDLS are nice too since I drive a lot of dark back roads.
Anyway, I'm obviously pointing out differences here from my perspective but the cars are clearly much more similar than they are different.

Congrats on a stunning looking Atlas Grey purchase !! I would consider a Interior LED Lighting Kit if you haven't already. Enjoy and keep us updated with any future modification plans.

Thanks! Your pic is beautiful. My previous TT was Midnight Blue (which I still love) but Atlas Grey is really special. I'm kind of surprised that it's not more common.

"...but Atlas Grey is really special. I'm kind of surprised that it's not more common."
More than likely because Atlas Grey is a "semi custom" ordered color when spec'ing a built to order vehicle with a $2,430 up charge ; )
Gotta be committed!
