APR tune 93 oct vs. 100 oct race tonight. Me vs. blackswan
We has blast tonight, thanks for coming out and have fun with me!!
My car.
09 997.1 TT manual 20k miles, fabspeed catless xpipe, BMC filter, Forge diverted valves, GT2RS intercoolers, APR tune. With 93 oct.
His car.
07 997.1 TT manual 50k miles, FVD exhaust with 200 cats, Fabspeed headers, Fabspeed intake, 74mm IPD plenum, IPD Ypipe, APR tune. With 100 oct.
We ran from 2nd gear roll (25-30 mph) to 4th gear (130-140 mph).
At first couple runs, it was pretty dead even I was surprise..
And we stopped and chit-chat, I gave him a tip of turning PSM off (2nd gear wheel spins),
He was pulling about half length to a full length of car, which I was not surprise.
But he was definitely pulling compare to the first couple runs with PSM on.
Summary, he thinks that my exhaust setup (catless) was a big advantage, which I am not surprise. I felt the difference right off the bet after I took the cats off.
Our next run will be in a soon future, he is getting the cats removed, I am getting my 100 oct fuel put in!
Side notes: I see 17+ psi on my stock gauge all the time, but he was only able to see 15 psi only, we both have same tune.. I have seen other apr tuned 997tt only seeing 15 psi. So I am not sure if it is my problem or what.
What do you guys think?!

Definitely was a good time. Learned something new every time.
Yeah what you said here "Side notes: I see 17+ psi on my stock gauge all the time, but he was only able to see 15 psi, we both have same tune.. I have seen other apr tuned 997tt only seeing 15 psi. The boost gauge is not telling the whole story...there was a thread a couple of years ago about the APR tune and the amount of boost it uses. A Durametric datalog would tell you how much boost is being used if you have one available, or just do a search for threads on APR tune...

We've done the searches. Very informative threads out there.
But why would aznevovii be hitting 17psi with over boost arrow showing and im only showing 15 psi with no arrow..same tune. I have never seen 17psi once with my APR tune.

Probably depends on whether sport mode is on or off I think. But the actual boost of the APR tune is close to 1.5bar (22psi) peak iirc.

i ve never seen any boost greater than 1bar with apr race file...(on stock gauge)while in durametric log it has an over of 1,5 bar and reaches around 1,3 at redline...
also from my experience i doubt that apr tune benefits from other mods than exhaust and ics (on hot climates)...i am almst sure that if second car was stock except exhaust and apr file it might be faster...

With the APR tune, I never see anything over 15 psi nor do I see the overboost arrow in or out of sport mode.
BTW, if you guys didn't go into 5th gear then you probably didn't go much faster than 126mph give or take a couple of mph. I've done a dozen 60-130mph pulls with VBOX, it's not possible to hit 130mph staying in 4th gear with stock rev limiter on a 6spd car with the APR tune. The highest I saw was 127.xx mph and I bounced off the limiter pretty hard on that run in 4th gear.

Lol maybe you are correct as i was keeping my eyes on the road than looking at my speedo.
This is super weird that i see 17+ psi on my gauge with sport on.
Will double check with my tuner.
Other APR tune owner can chime in?
