APR 997TT vs 2013 GTR

My 997 TT has an APR tune, sachs 2.5 clutch, and just got europipe EP1 installed. My buddy has a bone stock 2013 GTR so we decided to make a few runs. So we drove to mexico, and this is what happened:
Two runs, one from 40 and one from 30. Neither is a great place due to being at 2800 rpm or so, but on both runs I pulled away slowly but steadily. Shifting was where he made up time, but not enough to catch me completely as once in gear it was clear my car was pulling stronger.
He will soon go to stage 2+ on his car so he'll destroy me, but it was interesting to do the comparison now.

Add gt2 intercoolers and put in some race fuel and run the 100oct program. U may be able to keep it close once he gets stage 2+.

When they say 100oct, which fuel do they mean? Vp100?

100 octane unleaded from a pump station. I get mine from a Citgo. Few stations carry it anymore these days, but its worth the find

Be careful on where you get the 100 octane from. Most of our local gas stations that have it, have had it in the tank so long, it's gone bad. This has been proven over and over again at our local dyno tuner, on the dyno. Whenever a car is running poorly, or puts down lower than expected numbers, he asks if the car is running " pump 100 octane"

X...

Just a quick update, my buddy finished his stage 2 upgrades and we ran again. Stock power he made in the first run was 462/462 whp/tq at cobb tuning. After stage 2, 552/580 whp/tq was made.
This time, he pulls on me to about the same extent as I pulled him before. From 30-130 or so he puts approx a car length and slowly growing.

Overall, I'm quite pleased that a simple tune/exhaust can keep me up with his car. Next step, 65mm vtgs and some e85...

He ordered a vbox online as well so we'll get some real numbers back to back in each car here in the next few weeks.

Usually Stage 1 is Y-pipe plus tune ($2k total). Yields around 600HP (~500whp)

Stage 2 usually consists of more bolt-ons (DPs, BOV's, actuators, intakes, intercooler piping, etc...), pushing the stock turbos on stock transmission up to around 650 (~550-600whp). This is open for interpretation, but usually means more bolt-ons + tune.

^ yes. He has downpipes, y pipe, fuel injectors and pumps, intercooler pipes, intakes, bov.
All done at cobb with cobb parts, and right in that 552 whp spot.

So interesting/scary development. His vbox came in yesterday so we went for a few runs. Both of us in each car. The GTR did 60-130 in 7.5, right in line with other stage 2s. Neither of us is really skinny, so 500lbs of us in the cars.
Now in the TT... only did 2 runs in the exact same spot as his runs, and only got 60-130 in 11.3!!!!!! It honestly felt like it was in limp mode. 79*F outside, so no heat soak I'd think. It didnt misfire as far as I could tell, it simply did not pull. I've talked to other guys with my same mods, and 7.8-7.9 is the times they've gotten. So clearly something is off.
I will say I first tried to launch it from a stop, and it was a terrible launch. Might this have put her into limp mode? I'll try again today or tomorrow after driving the car a bit, but I'm a little worried. Clearly something off when I was keeping up with him last time we ran and now 4 seconds behind 60-130 on the vbox.

Any other ideas?

Driving to lunch I got on it hard through third and didn't have a problem. I think my .1 ic were heat soaked and timing got majorly pulled. .2 ic ordered, Todd k is getting me injectors and an e85 tune sent out this week. Maybe vtgs as well if I can swing it....

11.3 is slower than a stock TT, hope you find out what's wrong. Stock plugs? How many miles on the car since the tune?
