Only pdk on new 911 turbo
Car Mag, 3/13...Wolfgang Hatz (quote): "Next turbo will take 911 to new level and I will be honest, we will not have a manual anymore." They had a photo of it which seemed to show little change except for a smaller rear spoiler.

If this is true and the final word on the topic it is very disappointing. Just like BMW it seems Porsche is losing its way. PDK is cool and a great option but for a drivers car many want a manual. Otherwise one might as well save some money and buy a GTR (which I hold accountable for the demise of the manual in these cars along with Nurburgring times). I wonder if the new 7 speed can't handle the torque of the higher performing engines and they don't want it to be seen as a failure by putting in the old 6 speed.

I feel it all comes down to marketing numbers. Along these lines it may be better for us all, oddly, that the 'Ring closes so that manufacturers can get away from one upmanship on 'Ring times and back to satisfying the driving enthusiast.

That's why mine is mint with 10k miles on it!

US HP-cars like CTS-V coupe, Shelby, Corvette, Viper and Camaro will stay with manual-shift for awhile. Maybe Cadi will try harder with upcoming 2014-new design CTS-V coupe, that is, make the car more mature GT-european looking and stay away from their juvenile directed bad-boy racer styling.

No way , I had PDK in my former car, ended up driving in auto mode only.
Back in a manual and couldn't be happier.
If true it is a real shame, the turbo should be available in manual.
I did not think Porsche would do this, apparently I was wrong

Lol. You mean once you have no choice you have no choice.
This is what always happens i find. The paddles only keep you amused for so long before you realise you are kidding yourself....i.e. just trying to stay amused with the technology.....novelty wears off....back to auto.
