Summit Point FATT with Vid and Pics
Props to the guys at GMS for setting up my Turbo; it performed flawlessly! Here is a tribute vid that I just put together; obviously a novice effort but enjoy. There are several good shots at the end.

A slow 1:32; some room for improvement. However, after seeing two huge crashes that day, I'm glad I was able to drive home. I wonder what is a good time is at this track?? I really wasn't pushing it it; just having some fun!

That stang looks a mess.. I hope the instructor fully recovers.
I have no idea what a good time is at main in a car, ive only done it years ago on my R6 trackbike and would do mid to high 1:20's on a good day. I ran in the intermediate group but the guys that ran in the A-group probably did low 20's high teens.

A good time at Summit main is a 1:20-1:23. Your car is capable of 1:22-1:25 times. I rode with a buddy in his C6Z06 and he was turning 1:21's. I am surprised at your front stretch speed (you obviously weren't pushing it). I remember looking over when I rode in the Z06 (and later his ZR1) and saw 153 on speedometer.

You were driving smooth & in good control.
From the video, one can tell your car is very fast b/c of the strong acceleration pattern.
The power was brought on linear out of the apexes & you kept the car planted with minimal skid (good thing!). On the straight it was easy to tell you were in cruise control b/c no exponential acceleration after 130, which we all know is when the car is just getting happy!

Nice car
What exhaust, mods are you running?
I haven't been to SPR in yrs, but my old blue car, which had a similar setup was 1.25s all day long on cups. You should be hitting 140-143 on that straight.
Enjoy.

I'm running PSS tires, full catless exhaust, tune, filter, headers, gt3 tb, plenum, Bilstein Damptronic coils with H&R sways and drop links. Modified GT2 alignment.
The car runs and handles like a rocket sled. I think I can easily hit in excess of 150mph if I push it and keep my speed up out of turn 10. However, I was just having fun and learning the car; first time out on the new setup.
Seeing two cars reck was very sobering and decided to play it safe.

You're doing good. I hear you, some of these driving groups are loose and wild, whenever my gut says leave, I leave, if I ever put 4 off, I'm done for the day. I always avoid the red mist, or somebody tryin to win his DE.
enjoy

FWIW I was there in March with Audi PCC and instructing a very fast first timer in an R8 V10 and he was around 1:30. My brother does 1:27 in his 2012 Mustang. I did 1:34 in my 2010 GTI. Can't wait to get the Z06 out there and see what it feels like to actually drive a fast car there!
