Mild 997.2 Turbo tune?

Despite the fantastic stock performance of my 2012 Turbo S, I'm looking for a little extra performance. At a minimum, I would like a mild tune that allows my car to take full advantage of the Europipe exhaust that's being installed tomorrow. Ideally, this tune would adjust for the better flowing exhaust, create a little extra power, yet not compromise the daily driving and economy of the car (its my daily driver). Strangely, I'm enjoying the relatively high MPG of this car versus my prior daily driver, a Mercedes SL65 AMG (V12, biturbo, 11.5 MPG average). I'm only looking for the low hanging additional performance, and have no need to reach for every additional hp. Also, in order to avoid jeopardizing my warranty, this tune would have to be easily removed or disguised prior to dealer service visits. Interestingly, my SL65 had a Renntech tune which the dealer did not notice (strange, but true), and therefore did not impact my factory warranty. I would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks in advance!

Hey Tim,

Based on your requirement, I'd suggest that you look into the Softronic tune, I've had it on both of my 09TT & 11TT and it made a big different in power delivery on my previous Turbos. The tune will also compliment your EP exhaust as well and you can reload the stock map using a laptop in your garage. GL Tim.

How does a Softronic (or other brand) tune affect MPG? Does the increased performance translate to substantially less economy (no one ever discusses this). Or, can the tune be designed to only come into play in Sport and Sport Plus mode, it which rate economy is not impacted in non-sport daily driving mode. From my perspective, this would be an ideal arrangement....extra power in the Sport modes when desired, and no loss of comfort or MPG in the daily driving mode. Tuners are sending me private messages with their huge HP and torque claims, but for some reason, no one is addressing the MPG efficiency impact part of my original question. I'm not interested in going back to the 11.5 average MPG that my previous SL65 AMG offered (or anything close to it). I bought the 997 Turbo S because its an amazing combination of performance AND fuel efficiency, and do not want to substantially jeopardize that balance. A MILD tune that takes full advantage of the free flowing design of my Europipe exhaust seems like it could accomplish my objectives, but I'm just not certain where to find such a tune. Thanks for your help!

Tim,

Our software will give you factory levels of drivability without sacrificing gas mileage (assuming you can modulate your right foot ). Some users even see increased fuel economy due to optimized air fuel ratios and less restrictive hardware. Our software also includes a stock file that can easily be switched to within seconds using the included OBDII handheld switcher. We also hold the record for the fastest 997.2 Turbo.

We are located relatively close to you in Irvine if you ever wish to stop by! Feel free to PM me as well.

Tim, I didnt pay much attention to the MPG but from my recollection, it didnt make any different to me, I think I was still getting about 15mpg on my last 2 Turbos. I have yet to tune my TTS because it's fast enough in its stock form and I dont want to deal with warranty issue. You'll love the EP exhaust symphonies!!!
