When I compare my original OEM clutch + hydraulic assist versus my Sachs 2/764/Aasco setup + hydraulic, I found that the engagement point (much higher) and the engagement range (much shorter) were the biggest issues. The hydraulic delete makes engagement much easier to "feel." The increased effort took about a week to get used to in my GT2, but I should have opted for it when Ruf suggested it.
Bob I don't feel that the engagement point is "high". Sorry Can for continuing off topic

^^^Thanks.
Tom no problem at all; the other clutch posts are already here so it's best to continue it here; people could skip as needed anyway. Lastly I find the exchange interesting.
Steve, a good sign the Numeric shifter is in short supply. Hope it's from high demand and not lazy workers choking supply :-).

For anyone curious why this is creating such a brou ha ha :-). I actually have OEM Sport-Short Shifter Kit (SSK) in my car; it is a huge improvement over stock for me: more solid feel, shorter throw, subjective creating an incredibly better driving experience. I was skeptical before the change but a firm believer afterwards.
But... at one of the Porsche test drive events, I (again ) made a mistake of sitting in a GT2. I couldn't believe it but the GT2 shift somehow felt different from my Turbo SSK, lighter and more solid.
At the time, I thought OEM SSK = GT2 Shifter, and thought it was all my imagination. However, recently I found out from Sun Coast that the GT2 shifter actually *is* different, it has metallic bushing vs. Turbo's OEM SSK, which has plastic bushing.
I try to keep my car as much stock as possible but at the relatively cheap cost of the Numeric - I think it's just a matter of time that I order one. The nice thing about the Numeric is that, like the Tarett drop link, it's reversible, I assume easily. If you don't like it, which is very unlikely from the reviews so far, it's a simple to go back.
Again, for those who are considering OEM SSK, I would recommend to think about Numeric. Shift feel is so important in a manual car and so far all I see about Numeric is rave: seemingly a (pun intended) slick and solid experience.

it is truly sad that most never see the work of art that the numeric shifter really is!

Okay, picked the car up last night and only had time to drive it home.....hmmmmm....is all I can really say at this point. It's going to take some time to get use to. The first/second move requires some effort, as does reverse. Third, forth, and fifth seem to be very tight and close, but manageable.
CUP Cables...no sound at all that I can tell.
Solid tranny mounts....very noticeable....solid and tight, I like it!
Aasco Al Flywheel: Definitely NOT for every one. It's loud when idling and at stop lights. Most will think something is seriously wrong with your car. If they drive it with the shifter and Flywheel they will think your car is crap. If they know you and understand your intended purpose for the vehicle...they will be like, OMG!!! That is one serious machine and not for your average driver.
