Zero ($0.00) dollar grill mod.

OK dont freak out. The fact is I really didnt think this mod out at all. I just got tired of looking at the ugly plastic slats in the front grill area. Soooo...I walked over to my tool box and grabbed an Exacto knife and went to town. First I was gonna just cut out the sides but after doing just that I talked myself into just cutting them all out. I was a bit nervous at first that it might look "off" but I think it looks perfect. What yall think? .
I apologize for the crap pics. Ill shoot some actuall outdoor pics this weekend.

It looks like it can swallow whole rabbits now. I actually like it - makes it look more agressive.

I thought about doing this but thought it would be nice to at least have some protection against bigger items.

Question...my radiator has taken a beating through the years. Can it be sprayed/painted without having any consequences or would that affect the cooling capabilities? Thanks!!

tailwag, i would not paint radiator and condenser. they will reduce cooling effectiveness.

Looks great. You can get specific radiator paint from Eastwood.com that will not harm the cooling capability. It is the same stuff the radiator companies use.

Nice work, that turned out great and the best part is it didn't cost you a thing. Look forward to some more pictures.

Thanks all. The front end really cleaned up quite a bit.....very GT3..ish I think. As far as cleaning up the area behind where the grill used to be.... I plan a thourough cleaning w pressurized air, brushes and soapy water. A good drying w warm air and either Ill carefully tape off the actuall radiator fins and repaint the rest of the area w matte black paint or Ill pick up some of the stuff Steve posted about. Thanks again all. Ill finish up this project and get some better pics asap.

I'd like to see some pics of it outside and from other angles. I may just be doing the same. I think it looks great.

Curious how it'd look on a white or light colored car. Black hides a lot if anything is off or edges. Any Guinie pigs wanna try? Lol

I really like it. I don't think the 996 turbo has the horizontal grills and the front openings look very aggressive

Can you take some pics in the sun from various angles as well as from close up and at a distance? I may be doing this as well, definitely think it looks more aggressive, nice job!

IDK Sgt, I prefer the more finished look with the slates. This isn't ugly but the loss of protection from debris gives pause but will wait till completed and daylight shot to decided from my perspective.
Carry on Marine.
