EP1 vs EP2

EP1 vs EP2
I just bought myself my first real car, a 997.1TT. I love it in all sorts of ways, but the sound is not what it should be. So I have decided to do something about it.
I have read a lot about different aftermarket exhaust, and Europipe seems to be a favorite (confirmed by a poll I read on this forum). Various clips on youtube confirms that it sounds great.
However, pretty much all clips show EP Stage 1. There is also a Stage 2 louder version available, which could be the right alternative for someone who likes it a little louder (85% of EP's 997.1TT tubes are EP1 and only 15% EP2, according to Stef at EP). It puzzles me though that EP2 have such a low share, since I imagine that most people who go aftermarket like it a little louder.
My problem is the neither version is available for an audition in my area. Therfore I have a couple of questions which I was hoping to get some input on from the insightful people on this forum:
1. Did any of you listen to both EP1 and EP2? How would you describe the difference in terms of loudness and drone?
2. Did any of you buy EP1 but wish you would have bought EP2, or the other way around? Why?
3. Have any of you experienced any issues with EP, either EP1 or EP2? Leakage, CEL, something else...?
Appreciating your input!
Cheers

I'll reply to 2 and 3 only:
2. I have the EP1 and it is *plenty* loud for me. I would not want an EP2, if it's louder. Definitely a matter of personal preference though...
3. No problems whatsoever and can't say that I've ever seen anyone on the board experience issues with EP.

Since you decided to go with europipe you will love your exhaust whether ep1 or ep2...i ve listened to both and have ep2...not much louder but enlarged end pipes enhance the look...drone is not there at all cases...trouble free exhaust simply the best to buy...go for ep2...

EP2 is just slightly louder than the EP1 but the tone is deeper because of the bigger size tubing. And there is also some drone between 2000 and 2600 rpm.... EP1 is loud enough and there is 0 drone but to be honest with you I'm very curious about EP2 lol

Yes I would go with EP2. Drone to one mans ear can be a subtle boom to anothers it's personal preference.

Well...i happen to own a tiptronic...Stef says that ep2 is not for suitable ears..so it depends upon driver to decide what is loud and what is quiet...
Frankly there are times i wish my ep2 was a little louder...and never annoyed my or my wifes VERY sensible ears with any drone...

If at all possible you need to hear an exhaust in person to gauge for yourself... Even the stock exhaust has drone, it was very quiet and obviously Porsche worked to mask it but it was there if you listened for it. Apparently EP has found a way to keep (better than) stock drone down in the 2K to 2.6K range on the EP1, less so on the EP2, you need to hear in person as different people have different sensitivities.

All, thanks for all the comments!
I have a manual. I have seen on europipe's hompage that they recommend EP1 for tiptronic.
It seems like drone is a non-issue for these exhausts, especially with manual gearbox.
Gosh, I wish I could do a live audition. Without travelling to Belgium...(where EP's are made)

i've an 07 TT tip, never ever heard drone on stock and the tip in auto mode-
the tip lets it run at low rpm's that i've never use with a 6 sp-
Like others said, it's a personal preference-
i've heard/driven a 6sp 07 TT with an EP2 and the exhaust doesn't seem too loud to me at all-
sounds really nice- the only downside i heard was there is drone between 2000-2600
but with 6 sp, i would most likely keep it at higher rpms most of time-
With the tip in auto mode i'm between 2000-2600 rpms a lot, driving in normal city/hwy traffic
- according to stef there will be some drone with the EP2 on a tip between these rpms-
It's also easy to just keep it in manual mode and keep rpms above 2600-
The EP1 is recommended by Stef for the Tip, as it has no drone at all at lower rpms
where the tip runs a major portion of time.
I'm also debating between EP1 & 2 for my 07 tip. probably leaning to the ep1-

Stef said in an email that he always recommends EP1 based on drone, but I have a feeling the guys at Europipe are more sensitive to this than most customers... good sign I guess...
