Brake Dust...Are there any options to reduce it?

on a clean wheel, i use light spray (like painting the car), wait couple of minutes, then apply another coat of light spray. I also hit the brake calipers with the spray, too, to keep it clean longer.
after applying the spray, allow 1-2 hours to dry completely before driving.
If i don't have the time to wait, i just don't apply it until i do have the time & i can wipe down the wheels first.

I tried this product on my black rims and it turned them Cloudy White.? It was a pita to get off after the 2 hour "soak" time.

Good question on this! I had to use rubbing compound to remove it. Not sure on the actual removal time though. Abrasives tend to accelerate the time period.

I had a Ferrari 550 Maranello that would dust the wheels backing out of the garage, pads squeaked too. I switched to pads for Porterfield and the dust absolutely stopped as did the noise, and I didn't detect any deterioration in braking performance, although I probably never really stressed the system.

Back in the day, 1970's/1980's they had a circular metal black disc with lug nut holes drilled in them that you could place on the backside of the rim so the dust would be blocked from the rims.

I have the PCCB and they are awesome and do not dust. Worth the price of admission. My older BMW is a PITA. Light around town driving and the wheels were coated. My buddy with a C4S took a cruse out to the beaches with me and when we got back his wheels were covered. We applied opticoat to the wheels and they are super easy to clean but still show the dust.
If you go PCCB's it will solve the issue 100%.

That is one of the reason I went with PCCB, I had them on my 04 GT3 and really missed them on my Carrera S and .1 Turbo's, it was the worst on my Cayenne Titanium but the rims were easy to clean. They were a must have when I purchased my .2 Turbo.

Yes they do dust about 1/100th the amount of standard brakes.

more like about 1/4 at best.
when i drive from brooklyn to long island (approx 40 miles) i wipe the wheel with a finger and get a little dust on my fingers. they dust. less than std brakes but they are definately not dust free.
so does my friend with ccb's on his 996.

I use Hawk ceramic pads on my Boxster Spyder. HUGE improvement over oem pads. Brakes feel fine and are quiet also! Got them from Tire Rack.

Just get some different pads. There are pads that are BETTER than oem. A small amount of research will help you immensely. Hint: Pagid, endless, hawk are all good-great pads that will do exactly what you're looking for
