Unfortunately, I have had less than a stellar experience with Tim and the shop he owned? I can only guess as to why it went out of business.
That aside, I have had exceptional service from Tony at EPL. In fact, when Tim's shop tuned my car and it would barely run, Tony was able to straighten it out and get the car to run awesome. Even long after the work was done, EPL did the right thing when I had an issue.
They are worth the trip to CT.
PM me if you would like more info.

Tim never tuned your car. Tim sold his share of the shop a few years ago. When he was at Rpm the only thing he did was work on his own car, and install parts when they were swamped.
there is not a single person on this forum that has ever had a bad thing to say about Tim and the work he does.
so , thats a bad guess on your end.
Tim lends a hand, and gets a hand from Motorsport teams. real racecar guys. The motor in his car is literally priceless. it does not exists in any other car .He built his turbo from the ground up. wiring, programming. EVERYTHING.
so.. yea, dont make silly assumptions like that.

Steve, I remember you with the silver 996 turbo and foolish vids you posted of driving triple digits in traffic on public highways that you later apologized for.
You are incorrect as I was there while Tim was trying to put a tune on my car. He could not figure it out. And I am not the only person who had that experience with RPM/Tim.
It seems odd to me that you claim to know whose cars you Tim worked on. Or when, exactly, I had my car tuned.
You may think he is the greatest guy in the world, my experience was far different.
This is not a guess or assumption, just FACTS.

jGood, i remember you and your car.
you had that gray tiptronic car that looked to be raised an inch above factory ride height. aero wing but the paint was a little off.
i think you also had an SUV that u use to come by on the weekend with to drop off used parts to get installed.
A little smug. if memory serves right, you were some type of a lawyer (im assuming a traffic lawyer or ambulance chaser).
now its all coming back. we use to laugh at you because you would stop by with a ton of used parts to put on your car all the time. a little smug.
you had a GIAC tune, i had a UMW tune. I tried telling you how great the UMW tune was and how i never had issues. your car was there for a while.
I HAD SERIOUS PROBLEMS WITH RPM. MY CAR WAS THERE FOR 6+ MONTHS AT ONE POINT. Nothing to do with Tim.
and yes, for the record, i Think that Tim is BY FAR the absolute best mechanic to work on a watercooled 911 turbo.
actually, thats not a guess either , its a fact. Tim had the most powerful 996 turbo. Tim built the spoolbus, which , to my knowledge, hasnt been able to get any other 996 to run it. i wonder why ?

Steve,
Instead of taking cheap shots, which shows your lack of maturity, why don't you allow this forum to be an open place for people to post their personal experiences.
And you really need to check your facts, as downloading a file was exactly what Tim & RPM were selling as a tune.
You can PM me if you want to know some of the facts about what I experienced.

^yes, bobby is great.
he did my alignment and will be dyno tuning my shocks.
in fact, bobby was able to get me parts for when i did my gt2 rs tranny build. he's a fantastic guy.
if youre looking for a high hp motor build, fabrication work, and custom tuning, Tim is the man.
if youre looking for things like europipe exhaust installs, suspension work etc, then i'de only use bobby. tim uses his Dyno when he tunes cars.
oh, and one more thing, bobby is the only person i know that has a pwiws. he also has enough parts at his shop to build a dozen 911s.
(he was able to get his hands on things that dealers couldnt get).

i said what i said because YOU said "i guess thats why he went out of business".
Tims reputation is absolutely impeccable. as a dear friend, im not going to let any one say an ounce of b.s. about him.
maybe there was problems with uploading your custom 1 off , off the shelf giac tune. maybe tim didnt know the difference between a double click and a right click. but the fact of the matter is , he's put some monster cars on the road, he's well respected by EVERY tuner. from EPL, to Proto to whoever. no one will say a bad thing about him.
call Motec n.a. and tell them you have a porsche that you'de like to get tuned.. see who they send you to.
call BOBBY SINGH, tell him you have a watercooled turbo that you're looking to get serious power from, see who he refers you to.
call the man with the fastest porsche turbo in america (eddie bello), and see who he refers you to.
i wont argue anymore though i promise. the OP is coming by with a buddy that has an 850 whp turbo too.
btw, i pulled a 6.74 60-130 on a stock vtg car that tim spent a couple of hours fiddling with. all runs before were in the 7.2.-7.4 range.
