Important SpeedART Announcement
It is with heavy hearts that we regret to inform the Porsche tuning community that speedART has had to declare bankruptcy due to mounting legal fees from an intense battle with Porsche. Since 1999, Mr. Striening and speedART have been making exclusive conversion kits and individualized tuning for Porsche models. However, due to some unfortunate circumstances in the past, Porsche has been moving forth with an aggressive lawsuit against Porsche tuning companies, such as speedART and others. Although Striening fought hard for his company, it has become impossible for him to keep the battle alive, with legal fees growing and no sign of Porsche backing down on this issue.
For 14 years, speedART has remained dedicated to the driving force behind its creation: to allow enthusiasts everywhere to create a Porsche as individual as them. From their modern tuning programs to their classic restoration program, they refused to manufacture anything less than high quality products their clients could be proud to show off. We know that speedART will be sorely missed by many across the tuning community.
As speedART's North American distributor, GMP Performance still have some inventory in our warehouse. Contact us at info@GMPperformance.com for special offers.

Well there's always two sides to every story. There are a lot of tuning companies that specialize in porsche product, none of them are being sued to my knowledge. I'm sure it was a combination of copyright infringement and poor sales. Just speculating.

Competition is always a good thing, I am sorry to see them go.

Porsche does not like tuners. They do not want anyone modifying their vehicles unless its with original Porsche parts. This is what it really boils down to. There may be others in the coming months/years that maybe forced to close too.

Porsche used the copyright issue to sue them, but it mainly has to do with producing aftermarket parts for their vehicles which take away sales from the original Porsche parts sales program and warranty related issues. speedART simply ran out of money to fight the legal battle against them after fighting them for so long. speedART is also not the only company that Porsche has filed a lawsuit against either. There are other tuning companies in Europe that they are going after as well.

That's just plain stupid! If I see a nice looking setup on a Porsche with aftermarket parts, it makes me want to go down to the dealer and purchase one. Win win situation. If Porsche design team were to make the cars look more aggressive and sound better, people would less likely to do anything to the car. Just my $.02

My sentiments exactly.
