Garage lift?

Garage lift?
Does anyone have the Maxx Jax lift installed? Seems easy, not permanent and affordable.?
I see Jay Leno promotes it also. (for a small fee)

Hmm.. depends on what you mean by 'not permanent'. Most lifts aren't portable because of their weight and because they are bolted into the concrete. This one has the weight covered it looks like but from the pictures, it is still bolted into the ground.
I would love to have one of these but I don't think you can bolt/drill into a post tension concrete slab which is what I have at my house. That's why I was kinda looking into one of these although it doesn't give you complete access underneath the car because of the cross beams:

Yeah, that won't work for me. Drilling into a post tension concrete slab is a pain. Even if I get someone to bring in a ground penetrating radar to find the tendons, I still potentially have a warranty issue if they see that I drilled into it.
Hmm, I had thought that for the ones that you bolt into concrete, you drill the hole, and then the bolt you put in expands making it permanent -- isn't that why when you go to an auto garage, you find a lot of cut bolts embedded in the concrete where they were just cut and grinded down because they can't be removed? Anyhow, no idea, I'm guessing here. But if things work for you, that kit you linked seems cool and extremely useful!

Most garage slabs are 4" thick.

Drill depth for "flush" type anchors does not exceed 4".
Deeper than recommended gives no additional pullout resistance.

Great info. Do you have this lift?

I like. Do you own this? How stabile is it? The last thing I need is wrenching on a car and it falling off of the hoist.
Height looks good though.

i have the maxjax and love it. my slab is 6" thick and the anchors allow for a flush mount. the only downside is with a 4' height max its a tad short on my stool when rolling around watch your head! overall with my 8'ft ceiling height im glad i have it

Not sure if you have seen, or considered these Mid-Rise lifts, but I recently purchased one as I am always tweaking my Turbo, Cayenne, and Boxster S.....And my wifes BMW X5 for items not covered by warranty..This works great for most things I need to do and is portable (relatively) and uses regular wall plug....Built some ramps for the lower cars to clear...

Nice! DO you feel that it is safe to work under? Have you had any of your cars swaying on it? What did you pay for this? Where did you purchase it?
I get nervous jacking a cornier up for a tire change. Very paranoid.

Subscribed. I too like this but was concerned about the side to side sway was wondering if you are putting floor jacks down for the just In case?
For $1k and ease of storage this is on the top of my list now. This one looks like a breeze to hang on your workshop wall and such. Max jax was my first choice but was waiting for a garage to be built.
