Oil Temp/Hard Driving

In general, for street driving, when it is OK to start pushing the car a little more?
I'm not sure if it's overkill, but I drive really easy in "normal" mode until the needle moves over 150 F, then I put it in "sport" mode and drive a little harder without WOT.
Then, once it's at about 175 F I start driving without any restrictions.

Thoughts/opinions?
Thanks.

(2011 Turbo S by the way)

In the winter I find that it's hard to get the car over 175F without giving it a little more gas. That said, I stay way below the redline before it reaches the full proper 200F.

You should stay off the boost until you OIL temp gauge is at normal operating temp.

I find it really hard to hit that temp.
I may drive 30 minutes to work at 6-7/10 in terms of how hard I drive, and it'll stay at about 175-190.

I've only seen 200 on hot days with really hard driving.

Are you sure it's 200?

Guys, each car is different.. some have mods some do not.. some are in different climates, oil weight ect..

Normal oil operating temp is what ever you car reaches while not racing the car.

Normal temp should be 190. You shouldn't push the car hard until it reaches that.

Rev's have a lot to do with this as well, partial loading the engine to get it to operating temp isn't going to hurt it but high rev's will almost certainly cause issues with bearing clearances if your oil isn't properly warmed.
