Fabspeed muffler bypass pipes?
Anyone has them? I would love to hear your opinion on how it sounds and how you like it. There's hardly any videos on youtube.
I currently have the maxflo setup and considering ditching the mufflers for their bypass pipes.
Thanks!

I did call FabSpeed though to discuss price. For two pieces of pipe with some flanges on the end, I found them to be extremely overpriced.
I'd rather spend the money on a GT2 decklid and get it painted/installed.

I have no doubt the sonud is agressive. It's VERY agressive already, and that's with my cats. I'm sure the sound is incredible. I'm just not sure it's worth the money sadly. It might throw flames though, which would add a fun factor for sure! Last I checked, it was like $900 in parts. Feel free to let me know otherwise.

I was quoted a little under 400 for both pipes with I think is fairly priced. Again this is for just the muffler bypass pipes alone; since I already have the fabspeed cats and tips to reuse.
With the maxflo mufflers my car is very tame and quiet. It's very nice but given that this car is a special occasion only kinda car I wouldn't mind a louder/wilder sound.
I just don't know what to expect as far as loudness/drone/sound since there is so little feedback.
Thanks for the replies

Under 400 for two pipes doesn't sound all that outrageous to me, assuming they are made properly and fit properly. What am I missing here?
I can think of many other parts that are far more overpriced for what they are.
Anyways, I also get very conflicting info about how loud it is. Some say it's crazy loud, others that it's perfectly livable. Definitely not easy to form an opinion. Hrmmm....

I have no personal experience with them, but do have about 15 years and tens of thousands of posts on Porsche forums where I've read many hundreds of posts from people who do. I'd estimate at least 90% and probably more like 95% go back to their previous exhaust or to another exhaust with mufflers because the bypass pipes are simply too loud. The 5% who keep them are usually 1) track junkies and/or (usually and not or) 2) "loud" people who like attention.
The simple fact is the resulting loss in back-pressure is not a good end result for engine power (mostly TQ, especially low-end, but HP loss too). And they are LOUD. As a guy with a relatively loud aftermarket exhaust with 100 cell cats (and many other mods, but the exhaust is the key here) I wouldn't want a louder car (i.e. bypass pipes) unless it was mostly or entirely dedicated to the track. But that is one really good thing about the Fabspeed pipes is they can easily be swapped on/off if you have Fabspeed cats.
For the record, I think Fabspeed is one of the best in the business, and I have no affiliation with them. And even given the negative feedback I've garnered about running the bypass pipes on the street, I think I'd love them on the track, and live with swapping them on/off so I could really hear the engine exactly where it should be heard for those track days. I actually had Fabspeed at the top of my list until Vivid offered me awesome deals on a bunch of parts, in particular my Agency Power exhaust.

I have that system on mine. I actually went a step further and use the 90 degree elbows from my exhaust system and mounted them pointed down from the cats. They fit like a glove and still have enough clearance so that you are not melting anything or getting anything too hot.
The sound is gnarly and raw. Definitely love it...specially as you begin to wind up on boost. I got the straight pipes as well - the sound is exactly the same as the dumps - - I like the looks of the sealed screens on the back so sticking to those. Hope that helps...

+1, do you want you want to do, but every car or motorcycle that I have straight piped. I gain high end power but I lose a crap ton of low and mid range power and thats mainly where your rpms are at most of the time when your driving. (besides tracking) Anyway, Its not worth it, Only reason I did it is for the extra sound, I wont do it again.

I had the muffler bypass pipes on my 993TT and loved them, sound was incredible. As soon as I got by 997TT I put them on thinking the result would be similar. I survived 2 months with them. They were so loud and the drone was so bad it made the car almost undriveable, admittedly I use mine as a daily driver. Track I could see it but DD, it is tough. As many have done I removed them. I switched to the Cargraphic loud but still miss my 993TT sound.
