Black porsche turbo with red rims-opinions?
#16
My old car had a lot of red (on a triple black convertible) like red seat belts, stitching and gauges. I saw one car with red rims (was dark gray) and the red was darker like a blood red almost. I don't like the bright fire engine red, but I think it could be cool yes. This pic is similar to the one I saw.

Red
I want to change as well. Much less choice for my CLs though.
A deeper red and maybe the lips polished would be nice.
Look at BC Wheels. They custom make forged wheels and not very expensive either. About 3-4 weeks to build.

I've got curb rash on the passenger side of my car's rims and that is what made me start thinking should I go red or stay black. Looks like I'll probably stay with black and just order replacement rims and move on.
I saw some pictures of red HRE rims on a grey porsche and it got my mind thinking...

a subtle thin red pinstripe would look great.
IMO an all red wheel wouldnt work unless the car was dropped, with a a loud exhaust, larger wing, front lip etc etc. if the wheels are loud, the rest of the car has to be loud.

Thanks Steve, I rest my case, she looks hot!

I think the red looks good. The one thing in my opinion though is when you do loud or very different things, they look cool for a while, but you tire of them. I guess you could always switch back if you do get tired of them.

if you are going stealth then you need to repaint the car MATTE black. No such thing as a glossy stealth car.
The right red looks great, but not powdercoated or paint. More of a red anodized would look so much better than black.

I put the red stripes on my chrome 997.1 wheels at the rim space just above the tire line. I thought it looked sharp, and got a lot of compliments. However on the chrome.....just doesn't look as good as on black rims. And after awhile I removed them....seemed to call too much attention to the wheels. And too, redlines are a bit dated.....out of the 60s and maybe look better on tires than rims..

Btw, the red pinstripe i had on my car above is a rim protector, brand name Rimpro-tec. I got tired of it and removed them and again, it was a pain to keep these black wheels clean. Also your tire will show wear easily against a black rim.
I have now switched to a gold/bronze wheel setup which is much easier to take care of. Also brake dust isn't too bad. i can go for 5 days without having to wash the car. We all know black cars are generally hard to keep clean.
The red GMG wheels looks amazing. If you decide to go complete red, do some red accents on your body as well to balance it out. Another option is the GT3 RS orange wheel colour that another member had on here. Gunmetal, gold, bronze or Weiss gold (the one that it on the GT2RS) are good colours that are not too loud but it is what you are comfortable with. Like steve said, the car will look much better with lowering.

I like red highlights but red wheels can get a bit much. So, I'd say but a few cans of plasti dip and glossifier and go for it! It peels off easily later. I did my silver wheels black with this, then used red for the turbo logo and the area behind the air intake (popped out the insert for this) and it's not overwhelming flashy but still cool. My interior is red with slate grey paint. It really is hard to screw up with plasti dip.
