Did my car get totaled?

Did my car get totaled?
Hey guys, on Saturday night, while going home, I was hit on my right rear quarter and made me spin out at least 5 or 6 times before ending up on the other side of the freeway. While spinning, I went over a dirt center divider that left all the plants and dirt inside my engine bay and underneath my car. The worst part is, the lady that caused the accident fled the scene... luckily the LAPD were couple cars behind us but couldn't chase after her cause while I was spinning all the cars on the freeway stomped on their brakes to avoid hitting me. The cop came running to my door to help me out of the car cause I was too dazed to get my self out. What do you guys think of the damage? My insurance agent put in the claim today in the morning so im hoping to hear back from my insurance company soon.

Sorry to hear about the accident! Not a "total loss" by a country mile, unless the engine is toast. It will take some repair though.
New quarter panel, bumper, door, skirt, wheel and tires likely. Intercooler piping, other parts under the skin will also probably need to be replaced. And make sure that you check the multilink rear suspension very, very carefully. There is likelihood of damage to the control arms and sub-frame.
Are those exhaust tips supposed to have that much of a gap from the opening in the bumper? Or did the engine get pushed while sliding over the divider? Does the car start and run with no warning lights, other than TPMS?

So glad you are ok but holy crap that sucks so bad. I know how long you looked for this car too. I hope everything works out for you.
How did you know it was a female driver? Did you give a good description of her and her car to police?
I'm initiating a lawsuit for a "diminished value claim" as someone hit my 2013 X5 when it was stopped at a light. They hit me so hard the X5 sustained frame damage so there is going to be a nice CarFax report which will report frame damage. Your car is now going to have a CarFax with an accident so you may want to hire an attorney to provide you with your rights in this situation. It is a legal claim in California and the bummer here is that the violator fled the scene as usually they and their insurance company is the one that you would have to sue. Here, you may actually have to sue your own insurance company (assuming you have uninsured motorist coverage) because they will not pay this claim unless you sue. But I'm gonna say that your car is now worth $30-50K less even after repairs. Nobody wants to purchase a repaired Porsche 911 Turbo for the same amount as a non-repaired Porsche 911 Turbo.

Yes, there is diminished value, but $30-50K price drop is silly. It's more of a $10-15K drop based on a $80K value for an 09 in good shape. And there are plenty of people who will buy a previously wrecked car. OP, make sure you document the repair process extremely well and take photos of before, during, and after.
Best of luck!

sorry to see this, i remember you were very excited when you got this a few months back in your exact spec. If you are not worried about resale, i think it can be fixed. Just take care of the suspension work as ilko mentioned. The engine seems to have moved as well which is not a good sign.

Thanks guys for all the recommendations! it just sucks cause I was minding my own business, then all of a sudden im on the other side of the freeway dazed out... but its weird, none of the airbags deployed even though I went up the dirt divider pretty hard... the CHP wanted me to start the car so that I can move it out of the way since I was blocking the freeway, but the engine didn't start right away... I had to crank it about 4 or 5 times. honestly... I loved this car more then anything, but after this accident, I don't know if I want it any more.. can you guys suggest on anything I can do? or do I need to wait till the insurance company makes a decision after inspecting the car?

First glad to know that you walked out of the car. Next, if possible I would seriously consider having the car labeled as "totaled" and getting the insurance co to pay out the pre-accident actual value of the car, and move on! I'm no expert on insurance claims but the damage appears quite extensive (and if either the engine or the frame/chassis was damaged or affected during the accident then even more so).
Unless you plan on keeping the car for "life", I really wouldn't want to bother with the repairs, the massive loss in value on resale/trade-in and the likely gremlins than may arise from all the repairs. Sucks that this happened, as you had scored one of the 2009 997.1TT gems...hope you got, at least, a general color, make and model of the car that hit you (seeing as you could discern that it was a female driver). Good luck eitherway!

You missed the point. They were referring to "diminished value", not the cost to repair.
