How do the SRM ones compare to the 997.2 ICs? That would be interesting to know.

The SRM Intercoolers look great. I have not held a set in my hands, but I wouldn't have any trouble recommending them. The big advantage is they are not plastic end tanks. The 997.2 are great, but if you turn the boost up too high you can pop the end tanks off as they are essentially held on with an O-ring and a metal tab pressing them down. The SRM should also flow a lot better.

I actually ended up buying ETS Intercoolers to replace my 997.2 for that reason (endtank strength), but my car is down now. The engine is at EVOMS, I've been meaning to make a post about it but have been holding off until I have everything sorted out. My ETS Intercoolers are for sale if anyone is interested, I am going Air/Water for the new engine build.

It still hurts to talk about it. Nothing catastrophic, but it did need to come apart to fix it. I dropped the engine off with EVOMS last week for a complete 3.8L build with pistons/rods/heads/cam/etc.

Man I felt when you said, "it still hurts to talk about it",! I cringe at the thought, but as you roll with the blows, the positive out of this is that your car would come out better for it!

What exactly went or happened in the engine?

Sorry to hear this, but reminded me of a Top Gear episode. (Hoovering up small children) Some serious intakes.

Always good though to have a positive attitude, I look forward to seeing your build.
