Question Help with EGT Sensor Fault P2081 and P2083

I have an 09 TT and fault codes P2081 and P2083 are present. The codes are for Exhaust Gas Temp Sensor circuit, Bank 1 and Bank 2, intermittent. No CEL has appeared and the car seems to run fine. My shop said the codes could not be cleared and thought the problem is with the sensor.. part # 997 606 250 05 .

The shop recommended I just ignore the faults since the car runs fine with no CEL. They said it would not affect the power.

I found a Porsche TSB from 2010 that gave directions to make a dummy plug for the sensor that does not effect performance, emissions, or engine protection. It said to use this fix until further notice. It said the dummy plug would clear the code but another code would appear saying the sensor is missing (P0544 to P0549). It said this code could be ignored.

My question. Does this fault code affect engine performance at all or can I just ignore it?? If it doesn't affect performance, I wonder why the TSB said to make the dummy plug instead of saying just ignore those codes. I read where there have been several versions of the sensor with the part ending with 05 being the latest (maybe this part came out after the TSB). This is an expensive part. Does anyone know if I can 1. ignore the code, 2. just clean the sensors somehow, or if neither of those 3. use the dummy plug, or, last resort, if I really need another sensor 99760625005.

Thanks!!

Yes, I recently put on a Fabspeed maxflo exhaust with 200 cel cats. I think it had the error code before that though. I've had the car for about 7 months and I read in a prior service record that it had a fault for a heat sensor (the EGT sensor?). It did not mention what, if anything, they did about it.
