Aside from any body parts, liners, etc. that are needed, I believe you need to have the right suspension parts to go along with it.

From PM’ing VID997, he mentioned the BBI Axle Spacer is required if you want to run the Cup fenders, Cup flares, Cup front bumper, and have the wheels spaced out correctly. I’m trying to source the Cup fenders and front bumper now.

I’ve also sent a couple emails over to Rennsport One. They built the black Turbo w/ yellow accents above that was converted to a Cup-style car. They said the following when I started inquiring about their suspension components they used:

MCS 2-way dampers with remote res and custom valving. Along with that, we used Porsche Motorsport Forged Control arms with cup car upper dog bones and rear toe steer kit.

The Turbo above and VID997 are the goals for my TT. I’ve been asking VID997 a lot about his suspension make up too.

If you find anything else out, let’s update this thread.

A full parts list with #s would be awesome to have.

Glad I’m not the only one interested in doing this. That being said, when I realized I need all three rads, brackets for them, ducting, etc at a minimum, I realized it was more than I was prepared to spend. And that was without cup fenders, that’s using the stock fenders. With cup fenders you have to start getting into suspension like you’re talking about.

I’m going to do an OEM GT2RS front instead, as well as the GT2RS rear (just ordered from getporscheparts it’s heavily discounted rn) and RS 4.0 deck lid from precision Porsche. But if money were no object I would definitely prefer the GT3 bumper. Looking forward to seeing what you find out/ what info other have.

Azw - do you have the part #s on hand for what you just ordered? I’ve been bouncing between the GT3 Cup bumper and the GT2 bumper. Love the look of both styles.

Regardless, I’m still sourcing all my suspension parts now for a build.

Luckily, COVID quarantine in Boston has given me plenty of time to do research. The only silver lining. As of now, all I've ordered is the GT2RS rear bumper (https://www.sunsetporscheparts.com/o...ng-99750542182) Sunset has it the cheapest atm and with free shipping, but the free shipping takes about a month from germany to the US. You also need the exhaust outlet bezels ($2000 each from Porsche), or you can order aftermarket ones from knightracer UK here: http://www.knightracer.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2924&search=gt2+rs]http://www.knightracer.com/shop/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=2924&search=gt2+rs. They have a coupon code for 10% off, INSTA10. Lastly for the rear, you also either need to change to the complete GT2RS intercooler ducting (upper, lower, brackets), or you can trim your stock lower ducting to make it mimic the shape of the GT2RS lower ducting as that is the only part that impacts the bumper fitment. That what I will be doing. I've attached a photo of the two side by side so you know what to trim if you go this route:

Stock TT ducting on the left, GT2RS on the right. The stock ducting can easily be cut to that shape to pull air from the rear GT2RS vents and so it will not foul on the GT2RS bumper

On to the front bumper here is a parts list of what you need, I believe this is complete, but may also need screws etc. Everything else SHOULD carry over from your Turbo:

1 - 99750590180 - Bumper
1- 9975055578101C - GT2RS Front Lip
1- 9975055418101C- GT2 Center Grill
1- 9975055648101C - GT2 Right Grill
1- 9975055638101C - GT2 Left Grill

1- 9975753278001C - GT2 Upper Grill
1 - 99757532580 - GT2 Upper Grill Retaining Frame
1- 99750448581 - GT2 Center Radiator Lower Bracket
1- 99750448780 - GT2 Center Radiator Retaining Frame
1- 99610603775 - GT2 Center Radiator
1- 99750448981 - GT2 Center Radiator Air Duct To Upper Vent
1- 99757514180 - GT2 Center Radiator Bumper Air Duct
1- 99757532180 - GT2 Left Radiator Bumper Air Duct
1- 99757532280 - GT2 Right Radiator Bumper Air Duct

I have also done the GT2RS conversion, radiators, intercoolers and all. I may be selling my entire GT2RS body parts, also have a CF hood. PM me if anyone is interested or has questions about this conversion! Cheers

Hi All,

Wanted to circle back with the remarks above. The axle spacers are NOT required to run the CUP set-up up front. The axle spacers ARE required if you would like to retain AWD and would like to run a super aggressive track alignment. Without the spacers, you will “stretch” the axles/CV joints and burn the CV joints out in 50-100 miles after installing new CVs or completely new axles. They will burn up while just street driving that quickly, trust me. We went through a lot of axles and CV rebuilds before figuring this out. Not to mention taxing the front diff which will then over heat.

Cheers,
VID

Hello all. Reviving this thread again, as I am venturing down this road as well. With this lengthy list of parts needed for the GT2 front end conversion, is this any easier/cheaper than doing the GT3/cup front end conversion? (suspension and fender flares/wheel fitment aside). I would ideally love to do a .2 cup front end conversion on my 997.1 TT, but friends say it is WAY more of a task than doing the GT2 front end conversion. Can anyone confirm if this is true? Do they both require the same amount of work/parts?
