"service now" warning light
hi all,
its been about a year since i got my 997.1 turbo. and its time to get an oil change.
i have a question about the service now alert.
the car currently has 29,xxx miles. i drove almost 10,000 since i got the car. im looking into changing my own oil, just wondering how the service light gets reset? is it done using a special tool from the dealer? can an independent shopt also get rid of this?
also, what are other items to be serviced at 30,000 interval?
thanks, for any and all replys.

Some dealers will no longer reset service lights unless they have done the service. My local dealer (New Country Porsche, Clifton Park, NY) will no longer reset service lights due to liability issues with 'defeating' service lights without verification of complete and correct service. They claim that customer(s) had problem(s) after Porsche reset a service light as a courtesy.
