In all fairness I don't think it's been through that many revisions. I've read every thread, PM'd a bunch of people, and talked to a bunch of people and my impression is this:

1. The clutch in all existing current forms has a very narrow engagement window is tricky to drive.

2. There was a mid-batch of clutches that had hub/spline design issues and caused a lot of people problems.

3. The latest clutches have those problems fixed, but still have a narrow engagement window.

For the price and big power (say over 1,000 ft lbs of torque) you're not going to do any better until you get into a Tilton. I was ready to plunk down the money for the Tilton but was recommended against it by EVOMS for my car.

There is in fact another revision coming in the next couple of weeks, so I am holding off for now to see what it looks like.

as far as I know, Tilton only has carbon and metallic to choose from for the porsche platform. There is no ceramic or cerametallic. Tilton also doesn't recommend metallic for street use.

Metallic and ceramic material will be very grabby and shudder on engagement. Ceramic will also in most cases by far have a pucked disk which I wouldn't advise for a street application either.

Before too much misinformation get spread. The available discs are carbon and cerametalic.

There is no shudder with the triple, and minimal with the twin when pulling away from a stop.

I got my information from their website. Perhaps their website is wrong then, which wouldn't surprise me.

its not really a revision or update. the whole design of the clutch is changing, the only thing staying the same is the flywheel. they aren't shipping any units until this is tested and works.

Mark, I need a longer throw to engage the new clutch. I felt that the short throw was not allowing my 2-3rd gear shift and once I removed it, no problems with that shift.

yeah guys wanting to use this should def take note of that. gotta be careful setting it up to make sure that its really fully disengaged when you have it to the floor, also when changing clutches too..

Short shifters, lower gears and lots of torque don't mesh together well on most platforms/gearboxes. Longer throw allows more leverage to get the car in gear but make sure also that your tranny and motor mounts are as stiff as you can stand from the NVH point of view. You want all movement in the transmission housing due to torque induced twist to be eliminated to prevent missed gears (that end up in ruined synchros). You simply have to have leverage in your shifter for racing, especially when it comes to hitting that 1-2 shift which is the worst offender due to shortest gear ratio i.e. highest torque multiplication.
