Exclamation Engine compartment fan help

I've had a slim fan in my engine compartment for a little less than a year now and it was working great up until recently. I assumed the fuse blew so I changed that along with the relay, no luck there. So after doing some more searching, I learned a few people had the engine compartment temp sensor go bad, causing the fan to stay off. Does anyone know where this sensor is located and what the part number is? Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

The part number for the compartment temp sensor is 997 606 213 00

I had the same problem on mine and replaced the fuse, the relay and the sensor as well but no luck. Turned out there's another 5A fuse under the rear seat. So I replaced that fuse which solved the problem for while... but it blew again. I found out later there was a recall from Porsche to replace the 5A fuse with a 15A one. Knock on wood but so far the fan is still running fine with the 15A fuse.

Cheers,

The sensor is located under the right side of the Y-pipe.

I had the one under the rear deck go also.I put a 15 in and it works fine again. If you haven't checked that one you may want to before throwing a sensor at it.

Thank you very much!! The fuse I replaced is the one under the rear seat, I used a 15A. Which fuse did you change initially before finding out about the one under the rear seat? Maybe that's the one I need? Seems like there are a million things that need to be right for that fan to turn on haha..

Its under the bose unit. Do a search for removing the ecm and someone did a step by step to get to it. One of the vendors did the diy. The fuse is in the same area as the ecm.

http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/techni...2-and-gt3.html
Link no longer works but it was sharkwerks that did the diy.
You can search this forum for FAN FUSE and the thread will come up.
Cheers

It was Fuse 8 / Row D / 7.5A under the dashboard.

The sensor looks like this
