How does OEM 997.2 boost control work?
1) Mechanically, how does the factory boost control work? Given it's VTG turbos it doesn't seem to be an actuator driven system like "standard" type turbo systems in other platforms. As in, what is the actual physical thing that leaks off boost.
2) How dynamic is the software/ECU, and what is the interrelationship between boost control, ignition timing, throttle position, torque targets. Basically, what is the input and output. What inputs (sensors) is it monitoring, and what does it compare it to in the ECU table, and then what does it subsequently try to control (throttle, boost, timing).
3) How does Porsche estimate airflow given no MAF sensors, and is it very accurate/reliable data?
4) Cobb question - when you look at your datalog for boost (pre TB and manifold), is this in absolute pressure or boost pressure? Basically, do I need to subtract 1 bar?
