997.2 Turbo RSR- Pics and Info on Upgraded Clutches
Hello,
I am typing this as I fly home from tuning this car for Speed Concepts Online and wanted to share as it is really a neat project and has some parts that a few here will be interested in
First off the car started life as a 2012 997.2 Turbo S PDK. It was torn down and built for the One Lap of America race. Last year it ran into some issues so this year they got a lot of it sorted out and we had a chance to get it on the dyno so I flew out for a day trip to Milwaukee.
This car has Alpha 30's on it with a custom IPD Y pipe and custom, well everything else. Water to air intercoolers, custom suspension, RSR uprights, RSR body work, 325's in the front etc.
This car still runs the stock ECU and is custom tuned using the Accessport.
The big thing this car has that may be of interest is that it is equipped with upgraded PDK clutches. I have seen 2 sets in cars so far and this one works quite well so far. It is similar to a GTR in that it does add some quirks in driving, nothing major but it is to be expected with the added capacity of the added clutches. This was done by BBI Autosport and from what I am told is a careful thing to do as the basket has to be welded back very carefully as warping anything will make the basket unusable.
Anyways figure I will share some pics. I am not going to post pics or power numbers as I think they want to keep it private for the event.
Thanks for looking!

Amazing car especially with the weight out of it while retaining AWD! Tyson called me yesterday to discuss adding Aquamist meth on the car so we'll have that over to him soon. He'll need it at One Lap for sure. We had a 1M running One Lap of America for a few years with great results and they know each other. This will kick butt out there and meth will keep it running nice and cool with those A30s turned up and the clutches in place. Wouldn't want anything else at One Lap than this setup that's for sure.
