Help pls: clutch is much heavier prior to starting car in morning - leak AGAIN?

It could also be that some dirt got in there when they changed the parts. I had that issue and a good clutch fluid flush fixed it. Not that it can't be the accumulator and most probably it sounds like it does, but the dirt could also be a cause.

I had the accumulator changed (by Auto Talent - for anyone interested this is a well known Porsche/BMW repair shop that is now in West LA, close to the airport) and all is well again. It's a $170 or so part IIRC.

This system is certainly failure prone. My car's slave cylinder was only recently changed so I am not replacing it for now, but next time I have this problem I likely will try the BBI slave. Thanks again - glad I asked here first; saved me a lot of time.

Glad you got it sorted. My engine was going to be out for the cam repair so I went ahead and cut the beast off at the pass, haha. Glad I did. It took a little time to get used to the firmness of the clutch pedal but I would do it again in a heartbeat.
