I also use the Hankook v12 evo2, and have also used them on my previous '94 3.6 turbo. I like them very much, and I agree with NY6SPEEDER's assessment. They may not be as good as the PSS, but they replaced Pirelli which IMO are absolute junk.

I agree the Hankooks are very good tires for the money. I have run them for a while as well, and very happy with them. I doubt many on these forums are expert enough to really evaluate the differences to any degree...other than subjective. But as others have said...Great bang for the buck! They are not AS GOOD as the Michelins...But they are 85-90% as good and about 50% of the price so all-in-all a good value...IMO.

Good luck with your search and decision...

I had a set of Hankook tires on my first turbo (great value for the money)! Very soft side walls, but as the Rock said, I’m far from an expert.

I've put 5000 miles on a set of Bridgstone S-04... very happy. Made a trip out to west Texas (Big Bend) from H town....mixed high speed and twisties....felt very planted...actually visited the Bridgstone test facility out in Alpine and spoke to the engineers there. They have done significant testing and say the tire is a good match for our cars....My car was delivered with Bridgestones. Paid $1070 installed for the S-04's....good value tire. My car is on Champion springs and exhibits the same inner rear tread wear like yours....when the power goes down the geometry transfers load to the inside of the tire...as has been said...normal wear pattern....

I'm going to go ahead and say I actually appreciate the the softer sidewall. Primary reason for that is I live in NYC and drive around the tristate. Anyone that knows these roads, especially NYC will tell you just how terrible they are.

That said, I still maintain my position about the PSS's being superior but the V12 Evo 2 is an amazing BANG for buck tire. I also am running the newer Evo 2, I don't know if there were any significant changes between the V12 Evo and V12 Evo 2.

Will try the Hankooks if I alternate back and forth with 19" vs 20"'s.

right how I am running Michelin SS's on the 20's

I have Pirellis on my 19's right now and they did not last and dry rotted out very fast between the treads..

I was a hankook convert for years until they raised their price and I decided to try the S-04's that were on sale at America's tire. I never track and basically drive my car in the city and spirited on ramp accelerations and the occasionally twisty road. I remember the hankook's feeling floaty for months after install until they set but these Bridestones were super tight from the get go. Installed for $1000 all 4--can't beat that. Agree with other's--gotta get the car aligned often. I usually align after I replace all 4 tires, then the rears wear out quicker than the fronts, I replace the rears and then align again on the subsequent time when I have to replace all 4 again.
