Guys the R turbo didnt race whatsoever, i believe it is quicker than the 997tt, but by how much i could not say.

CTR is 16 years old and has 45k miles on it, and doesnt miss a beat...incredible car. Previously before the race i had driven 1400km over a day and a half....try doing that in something italian lol

all the best

Adam,

Thanks for posting! I always enjoy reading your threads.

So when are you upgrading the RTurbo to 590 or maybe 650?

Nice story Adam. Good to see the CTR hold it's own against the 997 turbo.

Adam,

All the best !!!!
thanks for the stories, and I was going to ask how your CTR (I have driven
them before, several times) stacks up against your Rturbo ??
Is the Rturbo the 550 or 590 ??

I will just chime in with some more praise for the CTR. I absolutely love that car and will own one or something copying it to a close degree someday. I have thought about re-creating a CTR, since an original is about impossible to find in the <st1:country-region><st1>USA</st1></st1:country-region>, but undertaking such a project would take more disposable time than I have currently. Hope to see you streaking down the Autobahn someday in person.

We have a Ruf 550 engine, and the r turbo is not in the same league as the CTR. However it is much easier to drive quickly on the autobahn. It hits 280kmh without breaking sweat.

I posted a video on an airfield which shows the best comparisons of performance between the two cars. It is on google videos, just type in ruf and it should come up

all the best
