Kevin,

I'm not sure if the Cayman/Boxsters are built in Leipzig because when I went on the factory tour in Stuttgart I saw them assemble the engines for both cars. I didn't see any Cayman/Boxsters being produced though.

As for those seats..they're actually orange! From this side shot you can see that it's two tone:

In this picture, you can see that TechArt can pretty much make your leather interior in any color you want. That's in addition to all the factory colors available too.

They had one type called Carbon Leather that looks like CF.

RUF is in Pfaffenhausen which wasn't even that far from where I stayed in Friedrichshafen. I'm a little bit bummed abou that because I could have visited them too! I'll definitely do that the next time I go back.

The funny thing about that parking spot outside the museum was that there was a GT3 RS when I went back there later in the day but unfortunately I didn't get a picture of that. So I guess they tend to park "special cars" there.

They probably moved the Carrera GT out of the museum because there were too many folks touching it.

The engines are produced there, but I don't believe the car is assembled there. I found this info...

The headquarters and main factory are still at Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, but the Cayenne (and formerly the Carrera GT) is produced at Leipzig, in former East Germany. Most Boxster and Cayman production is outsourced to Valmet Automotive in Finland
Porsche factory and headquarters at Zuffenhausen (where 911s are manufactured).

That would explain why I never saw any Boxsters/Cayman cars being assembled at the Zuffenhausen plant. They were all 911's.
