997 Ruf RT12 Vs 996 Ruf R turbo

Hi All,

I met up with JV (Hesperus) last month and we managed to get a pretty interesting run between our two cars.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPppW6rKKLU

We ran from low 2nd gear about 2500rpm. I asked JV if i could get the jump, i believe that this was worth 1.5 seconds or so.

Its interesting to see just how much faster the new 3,8 Ruf engine is, the difference is just huge the faster you go (5th gear+). When the car just goes into overdrive.

Also JVs car had a minor fuel mapping problem which as now been sorted, but the car limited the revs in 2nd gear which is why you can hear the rev limiter cut in, this was at 5500rpm

Thanks to JV for all the filiming, hope you enjoy!

very best
adam

don't worry my friend... it was just a minor glitch in 2nd gear. all sorted by now by H.P. and crew

you will love your car when you take delivery of it!

Adam, thanks for posting, and for being such an excellent tour guide! I don't recall seeing more than 2 or 3 other cars on the road the entire time we were driving around. its almost like that stretch of autobahn was cordoned off for high speed testing! i have to say though, you have titanium ***** my friend. even with the roads being as smooth and deserted as they were, Rami and I were absolutely sh*tting our pants going at those speeds in the dead of night with all that fog.

Did you get the other video I sent you last night?
