I did not know the Turbo was still fetching premiums in LA.
When I bought mine, I had all the SoCal dealers offering me premium cars. But I landed mine in Portland Oregon for MSRP
It was a great drive back..

on the snowy part of the US maybe but i haven't heard such thing either. unless they have allocations they can't sell otherwise i don't see why they want to move it that badly. dealers here have no car on the lot & most of the incoming cars are spoken for.

My car had 3930 miles with an original MSRP of 129,640.00...I sold it for $135k with the HRE wheels/tires, Cargraphic exhaust and fabspeed exhaust tips...So, in essence I sold the car for $124k and $11k for the mods..I had plenty of people interested in the car in stock form at $124k, but ultimately sold it to a guy who wanted the car as is...The mods were worth over $11k + install etc..So it was a good deal for him..

lou did well, but as time goes on and more cars hit the ground, it will be tough to do so well with a car with over 3000 miles. it will be just like the 996. in 2003, porsche made a ton of them-i had leased a 2003 for 39 months (turbo coupe) for 12k miles/year with no money down for $1350/month, tax included. that reflected the hi residuals then and the big supply, which contributed to the lower money factor. i don't think i will ever see that lease price again, but i do think that within a year from now, 3-4k discounts will be common on the turbo.

As I emntioned it is not a done deal yet, just a handshake. The concession on my part was that I didn't care if I was first on the block. Was willing to wait a little while. I will likely get there 2nd cab allocation if I want, though I will probably wait for a PDK version. Also going to do European Delivery, so timing will be more important than getting one early.

We were hoping to do a trip in early Oct. Visiting friends in Germany and Austria. Maybe a side trip to Belgium if time permits. So I am no rush. If it looks like we can't get the car in Oct, I may wait until April/May. Really want to do the Europe trip with the TT.

these are the kind of posts that i can't understand. if you know of a dealer who will give 5k off a turbo order, just tell everyone their name. what is the big secret. why do you need someone to pm you to tell them? if the dealer wants to sell for 5k off, then tell everyone.

Doc,

There are many reasons for wanting to keep names off of a public forum.
Relationships for example.
Not everyone gets the same deals and people posting on these sites, I assume, do not wish to spam their contacts with board traffic until they have had a chance to "qualify" the person they are referring.

I help a lot of people buy watches as I have a couple of sources. I usaully get them pretty solid discounts. I would not put the names and numbers of the people I buy from on a public forum as a courtesy to my sources.

I personally would be very offended if someone blogged my name and contact info on a public forum.
B
