Texas911 is infamous around these parts
But for people that didn't order it, the standard sills still say "turbo" on it, right?

Yes, for those that didn't order either the CF or stainless steel illuminated sill or even the plain CF/stainless steel sill you just get a generic mostly black sill with a small section in the center that's SS and says "turbo."

My 2008 TT came with these. Save your money. They are more ghetto than anything else. When my wife saw the car for the first time at night, she laughed and asked If I was going to put the blue lights under the car to go with the door sills. She then told me she would get me a little chain steering wheel for my birthday.

Just another overpriced Porsche option. These lights don't make you go faster, they are a tacky ghetto option. I have them on my GT2 and they are embarassing at best.

I ordered the carbon illuminated and a bunch of other pure profit options. Next time I will go easier on the options list, while nice they are easy to do without. I just got caught up in the 'my first Porsche' excitement and wanted it how I wanted it I guess.

I installed them as a retrofit on my 996TT and i really like them...it is hard to uninstall OEM sills(mine had inox sills) and if your car isnt equipped with footwell lights you ll have to run wires from door lights or interior lights...approx. 3 to 4 hours install time, result is very nice...

just stumbled across this thread from a google search - love the pic of carbon door cards.

Out of interest, the leather trimmed inner door sill - is this an option on the 991? looks awesome with the stitching!

+4 Mine flicker sometimes when the door is first opened, but it's only a momentary thing. They then glow constant.
