Sorta New Member Greeting - '07 TT

Hey Everyone,

I believe this is my first post. Just introducing myself to the board. I've been lurking around here for a bit and picked up a '07 TT from Kyle over at Brandywine Porsche. Here are some pics of the car. The white one is mine and the black one is CooperYau.

BTW..Does anyone know how well the car handles in the snow? And what is the break in? or is there?

john, i can comment on the handling in the snow. i am not an experienced race car driver, but i am an internist who has used 4 awd porsches as daily drivers in the northeast (89 c4, 2001c4, 2003tt and my 2007tt) first of all, to drive it in the snow, you must absolutely put winter tires on it-if you keep the performance tires on it, the awd system will be close to worthless in the slippery snow-you will have no traction to control. having said that, i have driven my awd cars in up to 6 inches of snow, with absolutely no problem. i have a cayenne s also, and that definitely does better than the 997tt, but that is probably mostly because of the narrower tires in the cayenne s. i can tell you that the 997tt with winters on it will drive more sure footedly than a rear drive 5 series bmw with corresponding winters. i truely use my turbo as daily transportation, unless it is going to be a blizzard-that car has gotten me home late at night after office hours in heavy snow and wind, safe and comfortably. in this sphere, i might have as much experience as anyone around here-just put on the porsche recommended snows. in addition, drive it in slippery weather with the sports button off-you want maximal help and intrusion by the traction systems as you navigate those slippery roads.

how was brandywine to deal with? i had $1000 down last summer to be on their turbo list-when i found a car, they gladly returned the money, but they seemed nice. regardless, good luck with your car-looks great.

the manual says break in is first 2000 miles, supposed to take long drives and keep away from 5K RPM's.
Nice car!

Thanks everyone for your kind welcome. Will update as the car changes. I will also look into a set of winter tires but I'm hoping it doesn't snow in New York as spring is around the corner. Regarding the 2000miles break-in, all I can say is that's a very long time! I don't know if I can put on 2000miles in a week. Thanks for the info.

Congrats on the turbo. I have purchased a couple of 911's from Brandywine Porsche. They could not be any more accomodating. I think the opened a performance center about a year ago. Anyone use them for upgrades?
(my first post also).

Yea Brandywine was a great dealership to work with and I'm sure I'll be getting my mod work done over there.
