Wow. Thanks for the heads-up. If the factory is aware of the problem and is just now informing its US branch, maybe the problem has been corrected even though my vehicle would be one of the first. On the other hand, if it is the other way around, with the US branch informing the factory, then I could be in trouble.

Not sure, I will look on the sheet. The old TSB not the issue we are having listed all the 997NA, Turbo, C4, C4S. I do not recall the GT3. On the new issue who knows. We will see shortly.

I posted it on the other response. Look at your last digits to see where you fall in.

Just click on the link. When it won't open, look at your address bar and you'll figure it out.

Lets not misread the issue here. Yes, I have a 76 and a 88 930 and they creak and moan and fart. However the issue we are seeing here is a structural issue. Welds popping and in turn causing noise is a whole different issue than your typical sports car groan.

My TT makes all sorts of "good" great cars sounds. The sound of a weld tearing is not one of them.

You're right, Stephen. I was just Google'ing to see if others were experiencing the same phenomenon. My '83 Targa was notorius for making creaking sounds, especially in the roof, when driving over uneven terrain. I'm going to remove the post since we have a much more serious issue here.
