Any word on whether both PCNA and the factory are aware of the problem, if corrections have been implemented or if production will be slowed or stopped until the issue is resolved?

Dammit...my VIN is on there. Why wouldn't there have been a letter from Porsche Canada yet?

Interesting thread. Mine is an 08 with the same creak in left hand rear. It came into the car at 3,000ks but I suspect it was there from day one but just not so prominent then. P has had @ 4 to 5 goes now to fix it now but its still not fully gone. Some days its there all the time some days its intermittent. It drives you crazy!!! Ive been so far told its the left rear glass which comes into contact with a rivet at the base of the b billar. The last occassion they said it was the rear center stop light was the problem (was supposedly a bit loose so they used some packing). The noise was gone for a few days then returned again. Ive since said its still not fully fixed so they say the glass has to come out and rivets ground down next time.
Jeez to hear this is a weld issue on the body....it makes sense to me.
What blows me away is how the information on these cars surrounding known faults and production problems is not shared globaly to the dealers from PAG and the affected vins recalled and inspected.

Does anyone have any pictures of the affected area on the body where the weld breaks? Id love to have it to give to them when i go back next week. I couldnt access the pic from bbywu's link.

Weld

My 2008 C4S made the same creaking sound coming from the back right. Always when I entered a driveway with a slight incline. Kinda sounded like something built by Chevrolet in the 70's. Drove me nuts. Could never get it fixed through the dealer. Finally sold it, but ordered a July build TTs. Hope they get this fixed.

Holy crap I thought I was the only one experiencing this. I experience this werid creaking sound when I go up speed bumps or ramps. (mind you mine is an 10' model with like 800kms on it) It sounds like wood creaking or like "sticky" leather rubbing against each other.

Should this be a cause for concern?

I'd say so unless you love that sound and want it to stay . btw is yours coming from the left hand rear, around the rear seat... sort of rear seat belt area? Its kinda hard to pinpoint from the drivers seat. Its crazy to think P still builds this problem into the .2....makes you wonder whats going on over there at PAG HQ.

Sorry to keep asking BUT....
Does this affect Cabriolet's as well???

I just got a 2010 TT Cab and I do hear some weird noises but not as described by any of you.

I hear some weird noises under light acceleration coming from who knows where. I think it has something to do with the PDK since it occurs during or just after shift points.

Anyhow, the noises don't bug me because it's the meanest car I have ever driven and Im addicted to the power....Ape

i will try to take a pic since i am installing my exhaust. I have to take out the plastic wheel weel cover. they have installed rivets in the place of the weld spots, and re pasted with glue and paint. (not the best job in my opinion) when i first saw i was like wtf, this car has been and accident.
