painted rocker panel option question
#16
lager99 your very lucky with no rock chips! The paint used in todays cars is so soft. I had to wait about 5 days for my ventureshield complete front hood and fenders and of course the day I got the car and drove it home (10 miles total) I caught a small one on the hood. Didn't do any highway driving for 5 full days (must of drove around the Presidio dozens of times). My next little chip of course happened on the right fender on the way to Premier for the install. Happy to say no chips in 900 miles and am so thrilled with the perfect job these guys did! No one would guess that my car has a clear bra! Worth every cent!!!

I am trying out the Rinspeed Lemans side skirts painted to match and will have Premier wrap them right after the install. "Hope this helps"
If not, off with them and back to the OEM black which I dont mind.

Every couple weeks I have to take 80 grit sandpaper and get that grated plastic look off. I would love to have the painted option but it just doesn't make much sense.

Damn...that's going to look awful on my painted one. My plan is to stick with the painted one and replace it with an unpainted one if it gets scuffed too badly. IMO, there are certain colours that really need the painted skirts to look good. The darker colours can get away with unpainted ones.

Remember guys I live in San Francisco's hilly City with steep driveways. I am jealous because I like the painted look but for me its all or none. FWIW only the front valance scrapes (bummer). I guess if your good with a touch-up brush its fine. You folks may not have the same issues so I wouldn't be too concerned. A clear wrap might help it last longer too?
