Congrats on getting the car for the price you wanted. It's good to see that they decided keeping a future customer is important to them.

Reasonable Discount off MSRP

What is a reasonable discount to expect off MSRP? My car just arrived 07' Turbo and the dealer is jerking me around. I walked out based upon only wanting a 5K dicount off a 140K MSRP and they said they could not do it. My thoughts are the 07' will start having discounts to the general public because the 08's are arriving in August plus the new production of the Cabs. I get a new turbo every 3 years (lease it) and can't believe these guys are willing to let a continued customer just walk. THOUGHTS???

Your request doesn't seem unreasonable, they should being trying hard to keep such a reliable customer.

Discounts

Talk to other dealerships.....there are plenty offering discount. They don't want to floor a car for more then a month especially with the 08 and cabs coming out shortly.

Should have negotiated it at time of ordering. I think you would be hard pressed in CA to get any discount outside of a token repeat customer 1k or something like that.

Its different when you walk in and see a Turbo on the lot, might be some wiggle room there even in CA. But for your ordered car its going to be a fight! Good luck though and let us know.

I know in Sacramento $3,000 off sticker is about right.

I do agree with gmoney. You should have done it earlier on. Now you have a car that you ordered sitting at the dealership waiting for you to buy it. They probably will just decide to turn around and sell it to someone else and then you'll be left having to either wait for another car to become available or go with a car that hasn't been built to your specifications. I would just see if there's a little bit of wriggle room and stick with that.

Considering in August it will depreciate 20%, I wouldn't even buy it.

Walk if you dont get 5k off, current discounts in the midwest are 5-8K on new cas and 8-15 off used(1-5K miles). I do agree you should have negotiated price before the car showed up.

I’m sorry, however this does not sound honorable to me. If you wanted a discount, you should have negotiated it at the time you ordered the car.

There are a lot of people complaining about how they are treated by a dealer, but I think acts like this give them a good excuse for treating customers poorly.

I didn't realize you ordered the car...how the hell could you not have a deal in place at the time you ordered it?
