Trying to decide which springs to get

Choosing between Champion and Techart. I hear Champions are made by H&R. Looking for the best possible ride while having improved appearance compared to stock.
Thanks for your opinions.

Facing the same dilemma. How much does each set lower the car?

I am in the same boat. The TechArt - 20mm and the H&R(Champion) 1-1.25 inches(when I spoke with Champion).

I like the 1-1.25 inch drop but the problem is some people have reported that its too short of a spring and it is not as compliant in the ride as the TechArts. Although H&R has been around the block for a while now and they usually produce a very good product and don't half *** the spring rates/design.

I am waiting for the Bilstein PSS9's to come out but its only showing up in the Euro market right now from what I have read. Nothing here yet.

I just want to see where the price point falls because TechArt being $7.5K and the RinSpeed Bilsteins $5.5K.

I have a good connection for Bilsteins so I am waiting to see what price point it will fall into before I decide. The costs of getting springs now is not the problem its the cost of the labor to replace them if I don't like them. Do that twice and you are looking at wasted money.

The Techarts have a higher rate than stock, whereas the H&R/Champion is a softer rate than stock. I chose the Techarts over the H&R's because they are progressive rates (more comfortable) and don't make that coil-binding noise that some H&R's do

Eclou - you don't have time to answer. Don't you have some band sawing to do?

Okay techarts it is. I relooked at your drop with the TA's and they look good. I will go with them then.

H&R have a softer rate? Would that mean that the H&R would actually ride better? I thought the H&R had a higher rate. And I have seen pictures of the Champions and they looked like progressive rate springs. Anybody else can confirm all this info?

Thanks.

yeah but he won't release them

I guess the Eibachs are coming 8/15/07 - that are suppose to be better than TechArts?

He said it was something he was working with exclusively with Eibach.

Intrax / Hartmann close to GMG has a machine that can measure spring rates. If you $$$ really want to know Im sure he could run it for ya and print it out.

Fabryce told me the factory spring rates F/R are in the 200/300# range, the Techarts about 300/500#, their new GMG springs will be in the upper 450/600# range.
