997tt - 0 Gt500 - 2

Just killed a 997tt on the highway. It was on highway 55 West, just off of Lake Shore Drive in "Mexico".

Color was dark gray, with tint (looked about 20%) and florida plates. Car looked awesome. Are you on here?

First run from 60, I pull away very quick and have 3-4 cars out on him by 110. I let out.

He pulls up next to me, I give him a thumbs up and he said something about missing a gear. (He probably thought he was gonna smoke me )

We run em again. We both slow down to 50, I honk 3 times and we're off. I again, pull out hard and pull away from him, then shut down. I gave him a thumbs up and took my exit.

I was really expecting a better fight to be honest. The stock (and modded) Z06's I raced were MUCH, MUCH faster. In fact, I got pulled by 1 car from 50-170 by a stock Z06.

hmmm....

Get both cars to a track, and see who will get the shortest time.

The TT was obviously in it's break in period and wasn't being taken above 4,500 rpm. That's what he was trying to tell you when you pulled along side.

that was the exact point of this thread. Mustangs are much better cars than Porsches.

You're pulling 125 traps, of course you will win. Try a modded TT, or better yet, try a road course where you have to turn .

Oh, there are modded Civics that will hand you your *** on a platter

Anyway, nice car. Mustangs have some of the best sounding stock exhausts out there

I have a full coil over suspension with other goodies. I slalom over 70mph and pull over 1 g on a skidpad. One of the races against the TT was through a turn, if the owner is here, he will tell you my car turns just fine.

I never said they were. All I did was post up a kill.

Some of the people here need to calm down and stop feeling so threatened. I have been a member of this forum for a long time, people need to lighten up in the 997TT forum.

Fast forward this vid to about 5:00.

"Ford didn't give this car a modern suspension because it would've added $5000 to each car".

"you can't give a car an extra 200hp and leave it with prehistoric suspension" - Richard Hammond

Come on man, you're trolling a Porsche site. Quit while you're ahead because you're going to get torn apart in here.

BTW, I'm not talking about street racing a TT on a road with a curve . I'm talking a real race on a road course. I'll bet money on the Porsche.

stock suspension was OK. It left lots of room for improvment. Such as a 2" drop, twice the spring rate, better dampened shocks/struts, better control arms, better panhard bar, etc. I have no body roll in the turns.

And just in case you were wondering, the solid axle is equipped in the mustang's that beat the M3 and porsche race cars in the grand am series.

trolling? umm. I have 1000 posts here and have been a member for over 3 years. I hang out with your administrator on occasion.

I posted a ****ing kill story, and some of you can't just say nice kill. Jeez. The 996tt forum has much cooler people.
