Thanks Jason, I bought a pair of the LED bulbs (did not know they existed) until now (nice find). I have replaced all the others the day my turbo arrived LOL! I was under the impression that the whole front end was done on your car (Ventureshield). Do the entire fenders too WORTH IT! You won't even know anything is there protecting your car its that good! Had the 1/2 kit on my 997S and will never go back! Cheers.

No problem gradyex. BTW I'll be down in the Bay Area with HUMM 3 leaving next week Wednesday the 12th. We should be arriving down there on the 14th (Friday) and staying until the 16th. We have tentative plans to meet a few Porsche boys (imcarnuts for one). Send me your email/cell phone via PM and we can maybe meet up. It should make for a spectacular backdrop with 3 turbos or possibly more. We plan to go to the Santana Row meet on the 15th.

Sorry to get off tangent here. Back to the point here. I did get the LED license plate bulbs but at the moment they don't work properly. Hoen is working on a solution. As it is, if you put one in it works fine but if you put the other in, apparently it triggers the voltage check which ends up shutting down both. So, I'd wait on that until Hoen manages to overcome that.

And yes, I definitely plan to get my front fenders covered. I spent a small fortune on camera equipment this month so my "mod" budget has gone right out the window for now. I'll get it later on. Right now only my front end, my entire hood and part of my fenders among others are covered with VentureShield.

Sent you a PM Jason. Appreciate the tip on the bulbs (I hate getting Fault messages). Had my share of "return to workshop' messages on my 997S.

I'd hold off on getting those W5W turn signal LED bulbs. I just got a "bulb out" error message for both my front left and right turn signals. Hoen is working on a solution.

Well, I just found out from gradyex that the Hoen Xenonmatch W5W bulbs burn a bit hotter than the stock bulbs (100 degrees F vs 85 degrees F) which in turn results in melting the filter element in front of the bulb within the turn signal housing. The filter element in gradyex's passenger side turn signal unit was completely ruined. He suggested that I check mine for any signs of the same occuring to mine and much to my horror, this was starting to happen to mine. I found out from the dealership that this turn signal unit costs $400 per side! I've already ordered one as a replacement and I went back to the stock bulbs ASAP! It's just not worth it to me to have to deal with melting issues and the "bulb out" issue associated with LED bulbs. I'm going to just stick with the stock bulbs. I also plan to remove the Hoen foglight bulbs too because that might end up melting my foglight housing too! I encourage you to remove the Hoen Xenonmatch bulbs ASAP and check to see if the damage has already been done or not. It also burns through the socket housing too so check to see if that has to be replaced too.

gradyex's passenger side turn signal housing close up. He put the LED bulb in which is much cooler than the stock and xenonmatch bulbs but still gives the bulb out error message

The LED Daytime Running Lights that integrated into the front bumper on Audi S6 is amazing ! I wonder what kind of LED bulbs do they use ?

Good mods, Jason. The small things like LED upgrades are always some of my favorites.

Holy thread revival!!

But Jason I have to ask, did you ever get a fix on the LED's for side markers and/or parking lights?

I put a set of 6000k LED Polargs in my M6 and didnt get any warnings so I got 2 sets for the P-Ride and the markers generate the warning (I didnt install the parking ones yet).

The bulbs look great but you get that damn beep noise and the ! in the center dash. Hopefully you have a fix here, thanks.

resistors are the only way to avoid the warning lights.
