997 Turbo 3.4sec? NEED REPLIES!
#32
I noticed the same thing on the 997TT Tip. If you don't build up boost it will still be fast but not 0-60 in 3.5 fast...
If you want to see the boost build up get the boost guage to show up on your display.
Select 1st gear as your car may be starting in 2nd gear.
Hit the sport button (you have the sport chrono package).
Hold the brake all the way in with your left foot.
Hold in the gas and watch (and hear) the boost build. Once its boosted let off the brake and floor it.
This car launches very very consistantly and will tear off the line like no other.
Have fun!

I was just saying that I pulled on an new M5 in my old 996 c4 from 60 mph to 130, someone made a comment on an older post that mabye the guy with the M5 didn't have the 100 horepower button pressed in the on position. Which might make sense given the weight difference. yacee james bond...
Ah yes, the M button. Could be the case.
I drive a Cayman 2.7 currently, by the way. Fantastic track car, but I need a 996TT for the street. I am tired of ignoring Corvettes who want to play on the freeway.

Very good point! That's the root cause of why the AMG's smoke the Ms off the line.
Hey Divexxtreme, I've heard of your car so much and I think we're in the same general area...Ashburn here, would love to see your car in action!

Maybe I'll see you next year. I'm off to Iraq tommorrow for 6-months.

Stay safe over there and come back alive and kicking! Good luck over there.

Wow, what's in Iraq? Stay safe. Good Luck, if you need anyone to babysit your car, you can just send it over to me and treat it to a Southern California vacation
