Fabspeed Sport Cats and Muffler Delete, what do you think?

I am considering getting the Fabspeed Sport Cats & Muffler Bypass Pipes for my 997 TT.

Pros:
  • Will provide the most agressive weight drop possible from an legal exhaust system.
  • I like the descreased backpressure for the quicker Turbo Spoolup.
  • I like a loud, racy exhuast sound.
  • Price
Cons:
  • My main concern is that I will lose low end torque due to the agressive pressure drop. (hopin the sport cats provide enough backpressure but not sure they will)
  • I am worried about the sound not being very clean and resonance in the cab.

I recently heard a TT with the FS muffler bypass - sounded great but pretty loud. What makes you think this is a "legal exhaust system"?

I'd go for it

It sounds really good and throaty.

A lot of customers go for this option. Plus you save some weight from the rear which is always good

Its very loud and fun for a week. Kinda like you wish you had a button to switch it on and off.

Go for it and see if it suites you, if not then adding the FS mufflers wont be an issue as they are easy to fit.

I had the Fabspeed sport cats with bypass pipes put on today. LOUD, AWESOME SOUND, and yes the throttle response is much better. The performance increase is seat of the pants noticeable; BUT - at 3000 RPM the drone is awful! I could live with the LOUD, but not the drone. I drive my car everywhere, everyday. I'm sorry to say, the generation 3 cans are on the way.
