Thumbs up Which Tuners offer the Most Bang For the Buck?

Im wondering which tuners offer the most bang for the buck? I called RUF and the price per horsepower (claimed) vs. Evolution (claimed) is around 3 to 1.

with Ruf charging 7k for a chip tune and 25k for 550HP they seems to be at the highest end of the spectrum by far. Which tuners do you think provide some better pricing per HP???

Pricing for the Higher HP kits I have found so far, I hope everyone finds this list useful (feel free to add to the list):
Speedart- ($208.33 Per Claimed HP gain over stock)

600 hp and 800 Nm Kit includes modified VTG-Turbochargers in comination with a complete sport exhaust system with 100 cell cats (sound switch system optional), sport airfilter and ECU update. Stage IV sport clutch strongly recommended.

25,000.00

Evolution Motorsports- ($91.92 Per Claimed HP gain over stock)

Our EVT S4 610 upgrade system is a building block from our S1, S2 and S3 tuning systems with the addition of our ClubSport Intercooler system. The desert is HOT..VERY HOT. We are fortunate to be able to engineer our intercoolers in the desert where they can be put to their test. Cooling is a fundamental aspect of all forced induction engines and the 997TT is no different. The OEM intercoolers on the 997TT are a slight improvement over the 996TT, though essentially the same design and efficiency rate. Our ClubSport intercoolers help reduce heat by reduced restriction and improved design. Our hand built aerospace intercooler cores are the latest in technology and incorporate our smoother flow cast aluminum and polished end tanks. Improved flow is attributed to larger end tank cavities, smoother airflow path and larger diameter inlet and outlet diameters. The final product offers ~ 35% better flow while maintaining cooling efficiency for improved performance.

$11,950.00

Techart- ($295.00 Per Claimed HP gain over stock)

Power Kit TA 097/T2
097.300.580.009 \Power upgrade approx. 100hp
Base 3.6l / 353KW / 480hp
- high-flow air-filter
- TECHART-ECU PROGRAM 097/T2
- TECHART carbon airbox cover

- TECHART Turbochargers T20

$29,500.00

I know A.W.E is working on a kit too, with modified VTG turbo's, but have not seen any pricing info on it

They are close to 700hp (crank) too I believe

I think EVO is going to be your best bet. Smaller skilled tuners are almost always going to be the cheapest route.

There is much more to this equation

i have tuned many cars over the last five years and i can tell you that when i have tried to save money on occassion i have regretted it. Go with a company you trust, that meets your objectives. For example. I had probably one of the best setups done on my gt3 by Roger at Orbit Racing in Florida. The car went from twitchy to sticky. He worked on the setup for a long time, changed the rotors to AP custom solid rotors b/c i was using up all the others. A guy like Roger who has one the Rolex knows setup and track setup like a surgeon. On the other hand, some guys want just straing line power and the handling of the car isn't has important as is the 1/4 mile. Below are some considerations
1)location from your house
2)resale of the parts when you are finished-I have bought Ruf products and gotten back 75 cents on the dollar many times in an aftermarket sale. Ruf also flew into NY to check my suspension (priceless... in my opinion) another tuner (not a sponsor..held my car hostage for two months and couldn't fix the ECU until Tony from PES Tuning fixed it in five minutes and realized that it was burnt onto a different chip set..Brilliant)
3)Objectives..Some guys want to break the speed of sound and need a different kind of company.ex. Chads Car
4)If you are tracking your car.. Can they come and setup at the track and provide trackside support..Priceless in my opinion
5)Warranty if the something happens....and a real warranty not a bull**** coverage or a company that will have a new coroporation formed before you get there.
6)Sounds of the product. There are exhausts that i love and those that people hate.
7)Adaptability of changing the mapping..if you are tracking or racing.
8)Are you going to need more mods later and want it to adapt to it..Gears ect
