Too much.
Though I am sure you get what you pay for, but it is just too much.
For that kind of money I'd go see the smaller tuners, after all speed is speed.

If this is the 996 RTurbo:

and this is the 996 RTurbo conversion:

(notice the latter is a 996TT conversion by the position of the intakes)

Is there a 997 RTurbo?

Both RUF and Techart do very nice setups, but the full rebuild isnt really necessary. Look how many boosted Supras push 700hp with a stock shortblock and 50k miles.

All turbocharged 997 RUFs are "RT-12".

No that is not right. The 120K engine upgrade is RT12 equivalent, but the RT12 is more than an engine upgrade only. There are several upgrade options to the 997TT, way short of the RT12.

I guess if you are referring to RUF Vin cars that may be true, of that I am not sure.

Well, to clarify what I was really asking, was:

If there was a Ruf VIN RTurbo 996, and also an upgrade kit for the 996 TT, why is there no Ruf VIN RTurbo 997? Or did they just skip it and call it the RT12?

The RT12 is a 997 based body with RUFs own 650 hp 3.6 engine that does not use the 997's variable turbine technology. So in some ways it is a 996TT engine in a 997 body, but that doesn't really do justice to all the mods and changes RUF makes to both the engine and car in making a RT12.
