If you want non-restrict intake just buy the protomotive intake kit..This is the best solution, deleted intake box and pipes, straight to the turbos :

The major problem about this intake is the air intake duct for the intercooler have to be removed..Not sure if this will bring the intake temp. up..I am also thinking to get it.They released the VTG adaptors for this kit now.

I wouldn’t recommend to do this, reason being that it will obstruct the airflow tremendously also you lose the ducting and this is also important regarding a good flow over the intercooler.

There are some 996 turbo from Protomotive out there that use this air intake system and put 800hp on the wheels

look at that crushed filter???

Agency Power offers a very nice intake that is a true cold air intake system with dual cones. It works with both the 997TT and GT2 decklids. http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/a...7-p-59684.html

the holes in the fenders are what for? to deliver air to the coolers, correct?
so now imagine one turbine producing 1000 kilograms of air per hour, this air will be steal from the cooler, that means this air should cool down the core, but air filter will take it.

stock airbox work perfect, the surface of stock air filter is big enough this wont solve the problem with air delivery before the compressor wheel.

you need this for turbine with bigger compressor wheel.
