Need help with Rusnak Porsche, Pasadena CA
Hey,
I have some suspension alignment issues I have to correct on my car. For some reason it seems that my suspension is moved over 1/4 inch in the rear to the left. Had the car alligned and added spacers but that did not solve the problem. Had them loosen everything and readjust what they could. There is no damage to the subframe that they could see or suspension either. They noted and showed me that one bolt holding the tension bar from the frame to the suspension was a little(hardly even noticable)bent to it. Jim the allignement specialist who has being doing this for 20 years at Porsche and works over at Porsche, ORlando FL. Cannot figure it out. Wanted me to get information about the previous records of the car and what servicing it has.
When I called Rusnak, they would not give me out any information about the car. I am struggling to get this fixed but if i dont have the back story I am wasting time and money doing so. I dont want information about the previous owner or anything, I bought the car from a dealer anyways on the internet. But I need someone who can help get me the service records and history of this car that I am driving. Car fax is clean, recall's and everything esle checked out but if someone can help me obtain the previous service history i would much appreciate it...Thanks

Hey, thanks for the response..I tried that already. I am good friends with the parts department and service advisor and they said because of a new act they will not be able to help in regards to that.
I tried then to cal Porsche North America, they call the GM-supposedly while I was on the phone waiting and told me that they could not do anything. I was going to write a letter to them and pleed to them, figuring that all I am asking for is detailed information about the car. Nothing to do with the previous owner, dealership or whatever. I want to fix anything wrong if there is. Other wise really there must be a defect from the factory regarding my car.
I was hoping that maybe a 6speedonline member might work there or have a connection there that is all.

I have had the car twice to a Porsche zentrum in Germany (and they are miles more accurate than most other) without any comments about the difference.

He wants service records on a used car he bought over the internet and now wants Rusnack to hand them over. Those service records still belong to the previous owner and without the previous owner’s consent Rusnack has nothing to gain and everything to lose and is under no obligation to comply with his requests. Identifying the previous owner at this time could be a problem; the time to have requested service records was at the time of purchase.

Not quite.

I did not buy the car at the dealership-so I am not trying to get them to do something or fix anything. What do they have to loose? I am not sure...We are talking about service records right?

I dont understand? I dont want anything to do with the previous owner just the dang records for the car? How does that seem, as in the tone of your post, that I am trying to get information about the owner or incriminate the dealership? All i want to do is fix my car as I am sure you would if you found a problem that made you consider the safety of it at higher speeds and integrity of the suspension.

You should have addressed your concerns before you purchased the car. I’ll try to make it simple: The only service records you were entitled to were the service records retained by the previous owner and if you didn’t request or receive them at the time of sale it would appear you are out of luck. You didn’t deal with Rusnack or the previous owner during the purchase of the car, just an internet dealer. I suggest you go talk to him. Under the circumstances neither Rusnack or the previous owner owe you anything.

Agreed that no one owes me anything. But I still do not understand what keeping the records, for the cars service life, will do to anyone? Its almost like there is some kind of consipracy here...
I tried to get the service records even asked for them. Heck all i got was one key which I am still trying to resolve. He did not have the manuals, I got them shipped with the car from a warehouse distributor. I had some cosmetic flaws I have worked arduously to fix and finally come to find out about the suspension problem once I lowered it. I did the oil change and service, regardless if it had been done for my own piece of mind.
You see I am trying to do my car up and make it the pristine example I was always hoping a working hard for.
Yes, if i could have I would have bought a new one. Maybe a better used one. But I got what i afforded and have made it what i wanted it too look like.
So yeah, no one owes me nothing, understood. However, I want to try and understand why a service record for a car that I own is not able to be either discussed with me over the phone or disclosed to me or Porsche Orlando to help solve the suspension issue>?

By law the previous owner is entitled to the right of privacy. When you were asked in a previous post if you had asked your Porsche dealer in Florida to ask Rusnack in California for the service records you replied:
That’s it in a nut shell. Unfortunately I think it is a sign of the times and our litigious society.
I do wish you luck in resolving your problems and wish you many miles of driving pleasure.

I assume the car is still under warranty so why don't you try that route. "My suspension is displaced 1/4" to the left and I'd like to have that corrected". Sounds like they have already admitted it's not a "normal flaw" since they "can't figure it out" so they should either fix it or give you a reason why they won't fix it which could give you the history of the car you're looking for.

It's a shame that no one was able to help thus far. Freind of a friend type deal. All it takes is someone saying if it was in an accident or not. I recommended he post here I am completely surprised no one can help. I understand the legal stuff but he wasnt knocking the dealer. The dealer is right 100% but when it comes to everything else eveyone is so quick to bash the dealer. : (
