Why are Champion wheels so expensive?

Why are Champion wheels so expensive?
I really want to get some 20" RF67's, but man $6200 for wheels alone??!! Seems to be quite a bit more than other highend wheel manufacturers. That is the price I was quoted straight from Champion. Anyone know how to get these any cheaper?

Keep checking the classifieds and ebay for a used set.
Carlsen Porsche in Bay Area had 19" set on clearance for ~$3800 - it was in their most recent ad in Excellence magazine. Can't remember what model though.

Why? No company has so specialized in lighter, stonger wheels... in a complete line, and ONLY for Porsches... EVER. That's why. And they are a real race team AND a real high end Porsche dealer. It's when all the things come together that you have to pay the money. If one of these things (lightness, etc) doesn't matter so much to you, save some dough. But that's why. Hope that helps. There are only a few other options out there, and they aren't complete lines. For example, I didn't get Champions. I got Volks. They offer the same kind of stuff, but they're cheaper because (I assume) they don't have the Pcar clout yet like Champion. But they're as light or lighter, and as strong (everyone says) for a good bit cheaper. Price savings wasn't a motive for me, but a bonus. I really like them.

Do they make them in 19's, or only in 20's?

Champion Motorsport does make 19" RF67 wheels, we have them in stock, but only for the wide body cars. Kermit, you are so close you should come see what wheels are available for your car.
Champion Motorsport makes some very high quality wheels. The forging process in itself is very expensive as well as the materials, machining, finishing, etc... Comparing the wheels to like products the price is not out of line. Please call or e-mail or pm for a quote.
Arling, thank you for the plug.

If you have a good relationship with your Porsche dealer then you should be able to get them at a better price through your dealer. Talk to your salesman and see what he has to say. You are probably going to have to pay top dollar if you order them from Champion directly.
We got ours through the dealership and got them for a lot less than retail.
